ComicBookResources brings the preview as the War of Four Cities reaches its apex.

Galactus and the mad Celestials face off, and the assembled powers can only sit back or flee from the fallout.

Finally, all of these stories will be resolved.

Well now who are these blokes?! Did the Daleks ascend into a form of pure energy when I wasn't looking?

With all the cosmic entities running around its a miracle none of them have sat on the Marvel Earth by accident yet.

The celestials have actually been a large presence in Marvel cosmic for a very long time. They're among my favorite parts of the MU.

They are the master key of Jack Kirby, the fingerprint that represent his view on Marvel Universe's genesis. They were heavely featured on Kirby's last series for Marvel, The Eternals, a continuation of DC's Fourth World.

Both The Eternals and the Fourth World have all the ideas and philosophy of Jack Kirby on How the Universe was created.

Respect.

These Celestials are different from the ones we saw recently in the X-books--these are from an alternate Earth and have been referred as "The Mad Celestials.

Reed teleported Galactus in using the Arc in the previous issue.

Earth vacillates between being a backwater and central to galactic affairs in the MU. Given the current devastation caused by the Annihilation wave, and the subsequent civil wars in the Kree, Shi'ar, and Skrull Empires, Earth has gained in importance, particularly since the Kree Supreme Intelligence was just resurrected on Earth. It's not surprising Galactus would be visiting more.

Then again, his teleportation system is seemingly without range limit, so it's conceivable he hangs around a lot of places of interest to him.

It's interesting to see Galactus vs Celestials set up as such a direct and physical confrontation, as opposed to when he fought Odin, where the battle took place mostly in their minds.

Supposedly these ones are insane. But yeah, it kills the epic nature of them for me. Also, I think they had Celestial's talking in the recent X-book appearance too.

I think a writer may have confused them with the Technarchy at some point, and it has just snowballed.

i lmao in real life, seriously

particularly because in their appearance in uncanny, the leaving part was signaled by the dreaming celestial, who just pointed up. for some reason, adding the Celestial Motto that scene makes it hilarious to me now.

The one we saw in Gaiman's Eternals was a veritable blabbermouth, as I recall?

Yes, but that was filtered through Makkari's dreams/visions - you didn't have the actual Celestial standing there, skyscraper-tall, and chatting.

Gaiman also does a decent line in providing characters on that scale with dialogue without diminishing them too much...

They talk sometimes, but a vast majority of the time they are silent or someone else talks on their behalf in some shape or form. But they talk you can guarantee that everyone listens.

The Mad Celestials have already dealt with Franklin -- they disrupted his focus to keep him from wishing them away. Because with great power does not necessarily come great experience.

Oh boy he is sooooo dead... Wait, Isnt Galactus a Celestial as well?

I think is a logic battle, Celestials created life on earth, skrulls, shiar, kree etc. Galactus has probably eaten the other half species the Celestials created
