Though it's worth mentioning that he IS apparently singing the song to Wesley... so make of that what you will...

And I needed the pickmeup, I've just been watching "Goodbye Bannerman Road" feature on the final series of "The Sarah-Jane Adventures" Bluray, and whilst very touching, it was nice to cheer myself up watching Lis Sladen and Tommy Knight dancing with David Tennant, even if only for a moment.

Date: 2012-02-17 11:53 pm (UTC)To be fair, both 11 and 7 had better taste in music (Dusty Springfield and free-form jazz) and 3's listening wasn't limited to Earth.

Date: 2012-02-18 09:47 am (UTC)And 3's taste in Venusian lullabies might be down to how similar they were to Earth music, he may be singing "Klokleda Partha Menin Klatch, Haroon, Haroon, Haroon", but we know he was singing it to the tune of "God Rest You Merry Gentlemen"

Date: 2012-02-18 02:41 pm (UTC)Ok, I found the actual scene from the episode and and it looks like when David Tennant said that, he was just ad-libbing for a videotape that was going to be fast forwarded through.
As for "The Idiot Lantern," I can't find a scene where he talks about a specific Elvis show. They were trying to see Elvis on the Ed Sullivan Show. If he did say the best show he'd seen was Elvis in 1952, either he was lying or the BBC has very lazy fact-checkers.
