Good point, the shape of word bubbles are generally supposed to correlate to sound in some way, like how shouts have explodey lines coming out or how the Endless have coloured bubbles, presumably because their voices sound unearthly. Perhaps Flash has a really squeaky voice or maybe he sounds exactly like Urkel.

I hate that I know this, but apparently the Flash has some kind of hearing/communications device in the wings over his ears. Kind of like movie-Batman has a cell phone in his bat-ears. I presume this technology allows the Flash to hear/speak while operating at super-speeds.
