To be fair, when it comes to a character as erratic as Deadpool, "Merc" is probably as succinct a description you can give.

As opposed to "genetically-enhanced regenerating supersoldier cancer patient gun for hire" or something.

I would not feel bad about giving him one or two levels in sorceror, specializing in illusions/buffs. In Kelly's run in particular, he often seemingly stepped beyond human capability at will, attributed to his knowledge of the 4th wall and panel borders.
