Jo-Jo, Congo King vs. Viking Surfers

[personal profile] mistygeek's post on Flame Girl reminded me of some more awesomely cracky moments from Fox Features Syndicate. Such as the time Jo-Jo, Fox's resident Tarzan clone, fought a bunch of Vikings on surfboards.

Yes, Viking Surfers (well, technically Viking wind surfers but still..)

Fox had this odd habit of starting it's comics on the interior of the front cover. That page was in monochrome, while the rest of the comic was in color.

Interesting bit of Trivia: It seems the same year that this comic came out, Newman Darby invented the first sailboard.

You'd think they were screaming a lot but, in fact, in the obscure language of Jo-Jo's people, "AIEE!" is a normal way to begin almost any sentence. It translates as, "Excuse me, but-"

Page four, last panel of the left. Go take a look.

That item works hard.

This is possibly the most glorious thing ever put on paper.
