If they do, I'll be mighty disappointed and just a wee bit pissed. P.S. is my favorite fictional character, period, and part of what's so alluring about him is the fact that no one knows what the hell's up with him--and that's how it should be. That was why he had four different origin stories to begin with. Where he came from is not the point; it doesn't matter at all. Any story that could possibly explain his origin is largely irrelevant, because it does not figure into his character at all. You very very rarely see him say anything about the past, unless he's telling someone to let go of it in order to build a better future for themselves or others, or something of the sort. He's just not that fussed about the past. He's a here-and-now kind of guy.

(Also, was I the only one who liked the "virtuous man in a city of ruin, argued morality with an angel, won" story? That's my absolute favorite of his origins.)
