Last issue, we found out that Drusilla mysteriously regained her sanity. This issue, we find out how.

People come to her to get their trauma healed. She gets the Lorophage to suck it out, and in return they let her drink some of their blood.

Thanks to Drusilla's second sight, she also knows about Angel's plan to bring back Giles.

Dru is FAR too sane in this. Where are her insane ramblings? Her funny little phrases that make sense only to her? In all honesty, she comes across as far too generic here. Why bother featuring Drusilla at all if you're not even going to write her character properly?

Perhaps she's in remission?

Ah, I stand succinctly corrected.

"You have no soul. You're not capable of doing anything selfless."

True. But if so, then she's also not capable of giving a toss about your morality lectures, is she?

That was kind of a baffling comment, at any rate - she already explained. It's NOT selfless - she gets free food, at no risk whatsoever to herself. That sounds like a pretty sweet setup to me, given that hunger is the defining trait of a vampire's existence. Like she said - he hadn't been listening.

Someone smarter than be once said sampires in the Buffyverse are "the embodyment of human selfishness."

Angelus. Dru, Spike and other nastier vampires have an extra flaw to go with being selfish: being needy.

It just always confuses me when Buffy, or Angel, or anyone else bothers to tell vampires that they are very. bad. people!

It's not like they're going to stop and have a long think about the direction their lives have taken, are they?

i have to say... a sane Drusilla is scary... a sane Drusilla who is doing good (all be it for personal gain) terrifies the HELL out of me... i like this series :D

Hm, why do I get the impression that by storing Giles' soul in Angel (I think that's what they're doing) they're going to end up resurrecting him but with Angelus' personality inside him instead.

Wouldn't taking Angelus out kill Angel though? Last I checked, Angelus was the name of the demon that keeps the body up and working. With him gone, the body would presumably resume normal corpse status.

There was something like that in a comic called "The Hollower." Angel hoped the Hollower would remove Angelus, so even though Angel would still be a vampire, Angelus wouldn't be "there" anymore."

To what degree Angelus is "there" is vague. The Angel episode "Erebus" implied Angelus is just stuck watching Angel do good, noble things, which torments Angelus... I think.

There was a Season 1 episode where getting bled on by some extra special type of demon burned the vampiric demon out of him, and with just a human soul in occupation he became a normal living human being again. Thankfully it was undone by the end of the hour.
