IDW's TMNT #4
Mar. 4th, 2012 08:02 pmHello, Scans_Daily! I'm a little late today, but here is TMNT Issue 4, with 7.5 of 22 pages. Once again I'm going through the story, so spoilers under the cut!
Last time, we saw Casey and Raphael getting lured into a trap by the cat-mutant, Old Hob and his gang...

Our lovable vigilantes are surrounded by Hob's gang, and Old Hob notices that Raph looks a little confused; he decides to taunt a little, saying he surely didn't forget their history together?

NOW Raph is pissed. And so is Hob that the turtle didn't remember, and he promises he's gonna beat the memory into him. "Or outta ya, I ain't picky". Hob orders no guns, he wants the two of them to suffer through their last moments...
Suddenly, FLASHBACK SEGUE! We're back to 15 months ago, after the ninja thieves have disappeared, and Dr. Stockman and researcher Chet Allen (the same one April was interning under) are figuring out the damages/losses of the theft. Mr. Allen tells Baxter that the terrapin exo-armor samples are salvageable, but the psychotropic serum (and the rat test subject they used it on) was a loss, as were the turtles.
Baxter gets all snarky, and comments on tossing them 20 bucks for the animals, and demands to know about the super soldier mutagen. Chet stammers out that they've only managed to get a small amount of it back from the alley where the vials broke, but it's likely been tainted by the elements, and is unusable. Baxter's not happy...

Meanwhile, April is at the police station, trying to explain the the cops what happened. They've a liiiiiiittle skeptical. I mean, ninjas? With swords and masks and everything, like in the movies? Even April is having trouble believing it, and it happened to her! One of the cops asks how she managed to get away, and she mentions how the fire alarm went off and distracted the ninja long enough for her to hit him and run. But who set off the fire alarm? "It--it was Splinter..."

And we're back to the present, where Raphael and Casey are holding their own against Hob's gang, but just barely. Suddenly Casey get's brick'd (literally, a brick to the side of the head) by one of the gang members, and that's enough of a distraction for Old Hob to sneak up on Raph, and our amnesiac turtle is being held down by three other guys. Now the cat mutant's changed his mind about using guns...

And we get a double-page spread of the guys kicking ass, that I can't put up here due to limits. Have to get the comic~!
Raph manages to get the guys off of him, and gets his first glimpse of his saviors; naturally, he's a little stunned. Meanwhile, Hob is picking the Shuriken out of his arm, and in a rage attacks the shell-shocked Raphael as the other three turtles are still dealing with the gang.

Enter some old-fashioned knock-down fistfighting. Raph gets the upper hand, and in a rage goes to give the final blow...But Leonardo stops him. Old Hob is beaten. It's done. Donatello objects, stating that the cat's just going to keep coming back, but Leo's firm in this one. "We've already disobeyed father enough tonight." Mikey agrees, because there's sirens in the distance.

And so our the brothers are reunited, and the father has found his lost son. This is an end, but really only a beginning...
But there's still so many unanswered questions. Some of them will be answered in the (somewhat controversial) story in TMNT #5. Until next week, Turtle fans!!
