Date: 2012-03-08 10:19 pm (UTC)I mean, I get what they're going for: a parody of the old fashioned British war comics like the ones printed by Commando and the like, but this just didn't really seem that funny or clever really.
Like the reason why the Indiana Jones parody is wearing an eyepatch is that he tried to use a whip as a melee weapon against the (mostly) British protagonists and accidentally took one of his own eyes out with it.
Best just stick with War Stories, Battlefields, Nicky Fury: Peacemaker etc. etc. if you're after Ennis stories about war that are actually good.
