I especially like Eros' design since a blond man with the golden pistols and a fabulous scarf is certainly an interesting take on a figure typically portrayed as a chubby angel wielding a bow and arrow.

Hercules, the Legendary Journey's kept the "beautiful young man" thing for Eros (albeit they kept the bow and arrow.

And IIRC Aphordite does berate him at one point for his immaturity, suggesting that the Romans had got it right when they depicted him as a child.

They did sort of reference the chubby Cupid by introducing his son (with Psyche), Bliss
