Preview of Wonder Woman #7

I just stumbled across this preview while browsing ComicVine and I just wanted to say how much I love Cliff Chiang's art!

Like in this bottom panel, Diana looks like she has some real muscle around her midsection. I imagine she has killer six-pack abs under that costume! And this might just be an effect of the perspective, but she appears to be quite broad-shouldered (which I also love!). Her legs look quite toned and her arms actually look muscular as well. All in all one of my favorite representations of Diana ever!

The other characters also look great (see "reasonably proportioned"). I especially like Eros' design since a blond man with the golden pistols and a fabulous scarf is certainly an interesting take on a figure typically portrayed as a chubby angel wielding a bow and arrow.

Also like the caduceus Hermes is holding and using as a light source. Mundane utility is always awesome to me. :D

PS If anyone else could share or direct me to their personal favorite depictions of Diana? Or even any other comic characters? I would be most appreciative.

Well, when she confronted Hera in her own realm, she kind of just left. For some reason. I don't know.

Because the point was to stop Hera from being able to see anything that happens on the world with her seeing pool.

Yeah, but I don't think she's going to just drop everything and quit being evil. Wonder Woman making a threat to her before she left just made me scream out loud "WHY WAIT?!"

My feeling is that killing a god is, if not impossible, then at least REALLY hard to do, so it's more likely to just keep Zola protected and wait it out until the baby can be born.

Well, they're not going to get credit for something they didn't put in the book. And the gods are pretty dumb as well considering the #1 cheese got around a lot by impregnating women that which results in their lives being put in danger.

Screw it. This is freaking garbage. It's like they wanted Wonder Woman to be so male centered that they get rid of all the Amazons, made her only female friend Zola a damsel, her origin changed to have a father (who's an a**hole), her mother being a selfish sex loving.... thing (Seriously, she couldn't stop talking about how wonderful the sex was to her daughter who just found the truth), her half sister being a murderous monster and her No. 1 enemy is the GODDESS OF WOMEN. It's like the pitch they made to DC was more of an apology for depicting strong women and came to the conclusion that Wonder Woman character doesn't work unless she has a more male dependent background and her enemies are mostly all women. THAT is why I hate this new Wonder Woman so much.

Her enemies have always been mostly women. The only big male foes who have been fairly consistent over the years are Doctor Psycho and Ares. That's nothing new. Also, Hera? She might well be the Goddess of Women, but at the same time, the legends depict her as a pretty spiteful and nasty and jealous goddess. Again, nothing new. Strife being Diana's half-sister is basically a parallel along the same lines as the old villainess Devastation, who was meant to be created in the same manner as Diana, or even better, Simone put together a totally murderous monster whose base form WAS Diana, as I recall.

I don't think readers need to be told that the gods are too powerful for Wonder Woman to directly fight. I think readers can infer that from the fact that they're called "gods."

Well, if Gods can't think of a backup plan for their essential devices, or alternative methods of gathering information, what's to take seriously?
