Preview of Wonder Woman #7

I just stumbled across this preview while browsing ComicVine and I just wanted to say how much I love Cliff Chiang's art!

Like in this bottom panel, Diana looks like she has some real muscle around her midsection. I imagine she has killer six-pack abs under that costume! And this might just be an effect of the perspective, but she appears to be quite broad-shouldered (which I also love!). Her legs look quite toned and her arms actually look muscular as well. All in all one of my favorite representations of Diana ever!

The other characters also look great (see "reasonably proportioned"). I especially like Eros' design since a blond man with the golden pistols and a fabulous scarf is certainly an interesting take on a figure typically portrayed as a chubby angel wielding a bow and arrow.

Also like the caduceus Hermes is holding and using as a light source. Mundane utility is always awesome to me. :D

PS If anyone else could share or direct me to their personal favorite depictions of Diana? Or even any other comic characters? I would be most appreciative.

Please understand that I sympathize with your situation immensely and do not intend to label you as a lesser person for it. But when it comes to this Wonder Woman, I'm not calling her a bastard like most people do when it has nothing to do with the not having a parent. My entire point of calling her a bastard was more about how her new origin affected hippolyta as a character. I loved how she was a loving and cherishing woman who earned the respect of all her fellow amazon sisters. I especially loved how Simone treated the birth of Diana as not just Hippolyta's daughter, but as the daughter to every Amazon on the island. Diana was joy incarnate.

But now, Diana is just the result of Zeus screwing around with Hippolyta for no other reason besides Hippolyta's craving for godly ****. I mean, Diana asks for the truth regarding her origin, and all Hoppolyta talks about for two whole pages is the awesome sex that she had with Zeus in huge detail. Why should all of that be relevant? It's only after telling Diana her sex life that she finally gets to the part where she actually cares about Diana. That left me feeling very disappointed in a character I loved as much as Wonder Woman in their previous stories.

I miss the optimistic Diana who was kind, loving and fair. This Diana comes off as irritated, rash, arrogant, rude and very violent.

And I don't think that Diana not having a partner is what's at stake here, I just don't think she's found the right person yet. After all, she wrote a book a while ago and stated at the signing that she didn't any boyfriends or girlfriends. She didn't say she wasn't interested in having any. And I also like Diana not having a companion because when she fights, she's really fighting for everyone. Plus, she's got hundreds of mothers. That's worth something. :)
