So these two are officially onscreen together for about 30 seconds and only have interaction over a radio, yet there are at least 50 fanfics I've found pairing them and they're probably the 2nd most popular slash pairing from Thor (behind thor/loki). And then in the avengers prelude series we get this gem.






D'awwwwww. Our badass shield agent Coulson actually allows himself to fall asleep while Clint's driving him back.

I'm actually finding this series somewhat interesting. It's basically an account of what shield was doing during Iron Man 2, Thor, and The Incredible Hulk. I'm not a big fan of some of the pacing but it does clear up the timeline of the movies.

lol omg this pairing. i have a fondness for it because i was working on an edition of comicstore_news recently and there were like, one thor/loki fic, one steve/tony fic (steve and tony who have now exchanged more words in trailers than barton and coulton did in thor) - a DRABBLE, and like, TWO 1000+ words porny clint/phil fics. it was 2am. i cackled myself to sleep.

Nonsense! If anything, Clint has always been in love with Steve and vice versa. Their sexual tension has survived multiple incarnations of the Avengers, several flings, Tony's inexplicable rise in poplularity and his weird child molester mustache in the 60's.
Hawkeye and Cap are the original slash pairing and even Joss Whedon can not change that.

I ship steve/tony so normally I'd disagree. However just the other day I was reading some Cap vol 1 issues where Hawkeye was visiting and dear god that man is in love. He's there to see Cap with his wife, and all he's thinking about is how Steve was the first to believe in him, and how great cap is and how no one else is like that. In another story, they go out to a bar to try to cheer cap up and tony stops by to clear the air about some fight they had. Clint gives them space but the whole time they show him in the background keeping a very close eye on the two while he snookers someone at pool. Hopefully Tony figures it all out soon so they can practice the time-honored solution for a love triangle...

In my Clint/Coulson fangirl headcanon, though, I like to imagine them both as big-time fanboys of the WWII-Cap legend and kind of squeeing over finding out he'd been defrosted. :D
