Time to add one more pair of two the "great companions" list, as the Fantastic Four and FF clean up the big mess put together after these past few years of Hickman's amazing run (so far).

It is touching to know that when the end comes, the Big G will not face it alone.
For all of his power and cosmic scale, moments like this make me love Galactus all that much more.

And just in case you thought all of the threats to the Fantastic Four have ended...




Doom survives his battle with the Mad Celestials, and is rewarded for his sacrifice.


It gets better... besides 2 Infinity Gauntlets, he finds the surviving Dr. Doom's from the other universes that the Council of Reeds came from.

A point...the Infinity Gaunlet and Gems only work in their respective realities. Still I am flashing to the What If? my icon is from.

He could just hop on over to the their respective universes, and conquer them first since they would be missing their Reeds. Scary to think what he would do with two whole realities under his belt.

Actually no. The 616 Infinity Gems worked in Ultraverse of all places, for an example. Magus used the incomplete Gauntlet in another reality too.

Not that it should be an issue, since by Living Tribunal's degree they shouldn't work together at all.

I think the idea an Infinity Gauntlet can only work in the universe it originated from first popped up in 2003's JLA/Avengers, when Darkseid got hold of one but couldn't get it to do anything.

The Four are the center, and the FF are kind of the "extended family" of the Four. They changed their costumes to show this: Sue, Reed, Ben, and Johnny have a 4 on theirs, Franklin a 5, Valarie has a 6, and so on.

Oh yeah, surely this won't backfire on Doom at all. Not like all the other times he's acquired cosmic/supernatural power.

He's not as bad as The Hood when it comes to this sort of thing, but Doom really should stick to his own inventions. Way more reliable.

You can mask the Image mentality, but in the end it's still Image. If one set of Infinity Gems already grants the wearer omnipotent power, what will two sets grant? What's omnipotence multiplied by two? Answer: omnipotence. I know this is supposed to sound awesome, but it's not, and it's not even logical.

Oh, this is Image all over again. Remember what's better than super-powers? Guns! And what's better than guns? Bigger guns! Hickman can mask it any way he wants, but he's just giving us bigger guns. Sad, really sad...

... incidentally, I thought The Manhattan Projects was a piece of garbage.

Kinda agree. Seeing Doom with the Infinity Gauntlet would make me go "Oh, shit" (or it would if there weren't so many omnipotent reality-altering people around to oppose him anyway). Giving him two Infinity Gauntlets just makes me scratch my head and wonder how that would work. What's the point? As you said, two times omnipotence is still omnipotence.

Well about Galactus and Franklin. In the Earth X series, Franklin ended up (I'm not sure if they ever really detailed the whole progress of how it happened) being 'new' Galactus, through some sort of self-hypnosis - he believed himself to be Galactus, and thus he was. It might have been a gambit by Reed so that they had somebody strong enough to fight the Celestials, though why normal reality-bending Franklin wouldn't work is beyond me.

Though to note, Franklin was distraught over what happened to Sue and after basically cursing Namor to burn forever, he disappeared for a while. Then it's a gap between then and him reappearing as Galactus.
