Date: 2012-03-31 04:52 pm (UTC)Tim's had a lot of internal struggles with becoming too much like Batman. If the series continues, this is a good way of getting him to lighten up, assuming the writer's competent enough to convey that.

Also, did Tim kill Solstice in that last panel or something? I see him holding a batarang behind his back and then he's walking away while she holds her chest...

Date: 2012-03-31 05:45 am (UTC)This book is really bad, but I'm not willing to stop reading it simply because it's the Titans. A pretty awful situation all around.

Date: 2012-03-31 08:00 am (UTC)All I really have to add here- other than asking... someone else mentioned it, but the art is blinding. Did Robin just kill her or smack her with a batarang or something? Or was it the computer? If it was the computer, why would he do that? Why does the art not convey ANY OF THIS AT ALL? I didn't even see it until it was pointed out.

Date: 2012-03-31 09:13 am (UTC)Oddly, manipulative Tim wasn't the part that took me out of it, though I want to see some of the charm and upbeatness that a Robin should have, otherwise why ARE these disparate personalities following him other than "the plot says we should".
What got me was Danny... Danny, to me, is a piece of sentient architecture, it's a wonderfully simple bit of comic book madness that fit right in with the weirdness of the Doom Patrol. He's been around, one imagines, for ages (Certainly the Doom Patrol version had been). To have him suddenly retconned into a teenage HUMAN turned architecture helping the Teen Titans just... doesn't work for me.
