I hope they aren't going to bring back that silly "The Phoenix burns away what doesn't work" nonsense that Morrison started. I mean, Dark Phoenix not only destroyed the D'Bari's star (thus the entire Planet of the Asparagus People), she also destroyed a Shi'ar starship and everyone on it. So, the D'Bari and those people on the Shi'ar ship just "didn't work"?

Yep. Those broccoli people may have looked innocent, but boy howdy, were they up to some naughty stuff. And the people on that Shi'ar ship? They all sold space-drugs to space-children.

You're being a little sapient-mortal-centric there perhaps? :) From the POV of a cosmic entity which transcends humanity by countless order of magnitude, quite possibly they don't.

Oh, and bear in mind the D'Bari weren't destroyed by the Phoenix directly. They died as a side effect of Phoenix eating their sun. She had no malice towards them, she just didn't care about them. (Which doesn't excuse her of course, but...)

Can someone tell that to Cyclops? What Cyclops wants and what the Phoenix Force wants could be two totally different things.

Still maybe the Phoenix Force is heading to Earth to get rid of Hope. What? I can always hope for that (pun intended)
