Isn't someone trying to kill Damian something of a given, what with how the kid is both a Robin and manages to collect enemies like a glue-coated bowling ball rolling down a hill of feathers?

• The stunning conclusion to “THE COURT OF OWLS” epic!
• All is revealed in “THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF WAYNE.”
This issue is also offered as a combo pack edition with a redemption code for a digital download of this issue.

As good as this series is, the fact that it doesn't REALLY seem to be have any effect on what's going on in the other Bat titles beyond a couple of tie-ins kind of drains the effect, no? I mean, the Court of Owls might have an effect in Batman and Nightwing, but they don't seem to having an effect in Batman Inc or Dark Knight as they've got their own things to get on with.

BATMAN AND ROBIN #11

Written by PETER J. TOMASI
Art and cover by PATRICK GLEASON and MICK GRAY
On sale JULY 11 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T
• DAMIAN makes good on his decision to defeat each ROBIN, and in a brilliant show of arrogance, starts with RED HOOD!
• The army of BATFREAKS is dead set on avenging their plight starts with the people of Gotham City!

Not really THAT arrogant, I mean Jason might be willing to use lethal force but he's arguably the least skilled of the Robins. He's not got the experience or acrobatic ability of Dick, nor the smarts, tech savvy etc. of Tim.

BATWING #11

Written by JUDD WINICK
Art by MARCUS TO and RYAN WINN
Cover by MARCUS TO
On sale JULY 4 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T
• BATWING faces off against the deadly Beijing gangster dragon known as LONG!
• Guest-starring NIGHTWING!
• BATWING’S armor is equipped with a new array of Bat-gadgets!

Again, why isn't Cass in this storyline?

BATGIRL #11

Written by GAIL SIMONE
Art by ARDIAN SYAF and VICENTE CIFUENTES
Cover by STANLEY “ARTGERM” LAU
On sale JULY 11 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T
• Part two-of the introduction of KNIGHTFALL – BATGIRL’S deadliest foe yet!
• BATGIRL takes on three new foes – the henchmen of GOTHAM CITY’S new super-villain, KNIGHTFALL!

Le gasp! Not... HENCHMEN! D: Points deducted for overuse of the word "foe" but the cover's nice.

CATWOMAN #11

Written by JUDD WINICK
Art and cover by GUILLEM MARCH
On sale JULY 18 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T+
• On the trail of DOLLHOUSE!
• CATWOMAN and her new partner, SPARK, take their relationship to a very intimate level!
• How will this affect Catwoman’s secret partnership with DETECTIVE ALVAREZ?

...Intimate how, exactly?

RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS #11

Written by SCOTT LOBDELL
Art and cover by KENNETH ROCAFORT
On sale JULY 18 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T
• “DEAD SPACE” continues!
• STARFIRE is unleashed in an epic space battle!
• THE OUTLAWS take on BLACKFIRE and her new allies, THE BLIGHT!

Roy's still rocking the trucker hat, I see.

DEATHSTROKE #11

Written by ROB LIEFELD
Art and cover by ROB LIEFELD
On sale JULY 11 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T+
• DEATHSTROKE, ZEALOT and the OMEGAS vs. LOBO!
• DEATHSTROKE races to find the crashed STARPOINT cruiser and the ship’s WORLD BREAKER protocol!

Phew, good thing that I know that this is Liefeld, otherwise the alternate explanation for Lobo's strained expression would not be that pleasant for Slade.

ALL-STAR WESTERN #11

Written by JUSTIN GRAY and JIMMY PALMIOTTI
Art by MORITAT
Backup story art by SCOTT KOLINS
Cover by RAFA GARRES
On sale JULY 25 • 40 pg, FC, $3.99 US • RATED T+
• JONAH HEX and TALLULAH BLACK face the Lord of Assassins’ steam-powered death machine.
• Introducing TERRENCE 13 in a new backup story!

Steam-Powered Death Machine is totally going to be the name of my Steampunk-themed metal band. Also, I hope that Terrence 13 is related to Dr Thirteen and Traci in some way, because a Charles Fort-type person in the 19th Century DCU would be kind of neat. :) And if you don't know who Charles Fort is, he's both cool AND appeared in Atomic Robo some time ago.

WONDER WOMAN #11

Written by BRIAN AZZARELLO
Art and cover by CLIFF CHIANG
1:25 B&W Variant cover by CLIFF CHIANG
On sale JULY 18 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T
• A new story begins as APOLLO makes his play for ZEUS’S throne – and WONDER WOMAN is the last obstacle in his way!
• As ZOLA goes into labor, a hideous secret is revealed!

Okay, people's misgivings about this series aside, this is one badass cover. And considering the secrets that have been revealed thus far, I do have to wonder what makes this secret so hideous. Like did Zeus decide to copy Seth the superhillbilly from Authority, and the reason why he disappeared was that he'd turned himself into a sperm and has been hiding inside Zola all of this time?

GREEN ARROW #11

Written by ANN NOCENTI
Art by HARVEY TOLIBAO
Cover by HOWARD PORTER
On sale JULY 4 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T
• Beginning a new story in which OLIVER QUEEN returns to action in Seattle to discover that the city has fallen into the gutters during his absence.
• Who are the DARK ARROWS?

Yup, he's evil, look at that goatee!

So, Black Canary is wearing a female version of Hank Pym's Wasp costume. (His best costume, IMO.) She actually looked kinda like lady!Pym Wasp.

Next Marvel event, everyone is the Phoenix. Including Batman, apparently.

"Isn't someone trying to kill Damian something of a given, what with how the kid is both a Robin and manages to collect enemies like a glue-coated bowling ball rolling down a hill of feathers?"

I would think this more has to do with the bounty set on Damian's head by his own mother at the end of the Leviathan Strikes special (or at least, still trying to figure out what part of that is new 52 canon and not)

"Not really THAT arrogant, I mean Jason might be willing to use lethal force but he's arguably the least skilled of the Robins. He's not got the experience or acrobatic ability of Dick, nor the smarts, tech savvy etc. of Tim."

The same Jason who had a great run taking over the gangs of Gotham? The same Jason who went head to head against Bats pre-Infinite Crisis? The same Jason who in the new 52 seems to have those same skills and has now been trained by some super secret mostly immortal race?

I would hardly call him the least skilled Robin.

"Isn't someone trying to kill Damian something of a given, what with how the kid is both a Robin and manages to collect enemies like a glue-coated bowling ball rolling down a hill of feathers?"

Have you read Batman Incorporated and the one-shot Leviathan Strikes? What happens here comes from that.

"As good as this series is, the fact that it doesn't REALLY seem to be have any effect on what's going on in the other Bat titles beyond a couple of tie-ins kind of drains the effect, no?"

I guess it depends on what happens in the tie-ins. Besides, Snyder still has four issues to make it feel as epic as it should be.

"Again, why isn't Cass in this storyline?"

Wouldn't it be crazy if David and Dick were fighting this dragon gangster guy (BTW, greatest new villain ever or what?!), he has them on the ropes, and then on the last page--POW--Cass comes in for the save? That would be awesome.

"...Intimate how, exactly?"

Most of their costumes stay on. Honestly, I'm kinda surprised that it isn't going to happen sooner, but I've started to really get into this book after #7, so I'm definitely looking forward to this. :)

With Deathstroke...is it just me, or did anyone else at first read this as Lobo teabagging Slade?

And Wonder Woman...Christ almighty is that cover awesome. Diana's totally unleashing her inner King Conan and Zola is the epitome of white trash fabulous. :D

considering this is Zeus... that would NOT be far fetched... but yeah, the triad on the cover are totally ROCKING it...

So wait...

In one comic, Damian is hunting everyone named Robin.

In the other, he's being hunted by assassins for the price on his head.

Am I the only person who sees a problem with that?

The covers of BoP and Batgirl bother the hobby artist with in me (it's the breasts).

I just hope Batman and Robin will end up with Damian and Jason having a stand still or Jason winning. I doubt it because "assassin baby prince", but Jason has a few years of training more than Damian and was probably trained in with a more variety of skills.

I just hope Jason gets his dark sarcastic humor back soon.

I'm finding difficulties putting in to words how much I want Damian to die at the end of the Leviathan storyline, even though I pretty much know it won't happen.

I would say that the Court of the Owls being incorporated in to Nightwing is a big accomplishment in itself and it seems to becoming a really good storyline. I'm already interested in the Fall of the Waynes and what it will actually mean, hoping that it will be really good. I'm also really liking how the Waynes are not threatened here because of some dark secrets about them really being horrible people, but rather because they were just that awesome against the truly horrible people. And the reason this storyline will probably have a limited impact on the Batbooks is that it is still Morrison who gets to decide the next status quo for the Batbooks. I dislike it for several reasons, especially since before his storyline the Batbooks were always run as a team of writers working together, but it is what it is.

And finally Babs's new villain is named after the defining Bat-storyline of the 90's? It better be referenced there.

There's nothing that I don't find ridiculous about that B & R solicit.

I sort of hope that Damian mocks Jay’s gun, so Jay’s all fuck you, I can sword fight, too, Bat ninja boy, then kicks his ass with his magical swords. Heh.

Diana's eyes on that WW over scare me...

Thank you for that mental image regarding Lobo and Deathstroke..

Does anyone else think that the Outlaws are just... rather underpowered for a space opera saga? Two non-metas with a definitely finite supply of hand weapons and one energy blaster?

I would say that while Dick represents his physical abilities, and Tim represents his mental, Jason would represent his versatility, and range of abilities.
Also, that guy stole Ollie's beard!

Lack of Cass aside I want this dragon gangster to become a major reoccurring villain, because he is a gods damned dragon who is also a gangster.

"Again, why isn't Cass in this storyline?"

A bigger question will be if Cass even gets MENTIONED. My instincts say no and being name-dropped (i.e. "you know this used to be Black Bat's turf" or something like that) has nothing to do with whatever "plans" DC has for her elsewhere.

"...Intimate how, exactly?"
Given this is Winick I would be stunned if it isn't "sexy, sexy, sexy" or something to that effect.

Been curious about Batwing for a while. Is it any good? I've read it's violent, guerilla violent, but I can handle that.

Also been curious about Nightwing, but is the New52 a good place to start?

I'm an impresionable youth, tell me what to buy. (Half kidding).

I've seen the other solicits out on Newsrama:
The JLI one isn't really doing anything for me. I'll keep searching for old issues where Ted is still alive instead.
Blue Beetle 11... would've been totally awesome... Before the reboot. In New York with Brenda and Paco, me (normally) wants. But I wanted to bite someone and step on a bug while reading issue 7. I just want that feeling to go away now.

Oh, you know exactly how. *Creepy smile*

But besides that, looking forward to a great deal of these books. Dark Arrows in Green Arrow..where ironically I remember there being promise of a Dark Arrow in Green Arrow before the reboot, good to see some sort of promise is finally being kept.

Poison Ivy having connections to The Green? About damn time.

Starfire space epic continues? Yes please.

Lobo vs. Deathstroke? You're kidding right? That cover says it all, Slade stands no fucking chance! Also Lobo seems to be taking the "humiliating your fallen opponent" to the next level. I remember when peeing on your opponent was a sign of ultimate disrespect and humiliation (as well as it just being a nasty/dickish move in itself) but umm yea..definitely looks like he's taking it to the level of..number 2.

It's funny how much I love that Batgirl cover considering how fucked the fight choreography appears to be. Is Barbara trying to parry that henchwoman's fist INTO her face?

Once again, DC makes me think that they don't have a Wonder Woman book. They have a Xena book where they got the names wrong. They also have a Xena book where Xena and Gabrielle's noses start too high on their faces, giving them a very disconcerting look.

Also, since when could Batgirl fly?

It looks like July must be "Batman On Fire" month.

As much as I like Lobo, I'm going to have to pass. That art! *cringe*
