I doubt that's within his power. In fact, since the thing is the energy-absorbing kind of vibranium, it might not be affected by magnetism at all.

I'd expected Namor and Dr. Strange to sit this squabble out, as they're now appearing together in Defenders. Would not enjoy being the leader responsible for battle srtategy against a team that includes the latter, Thor, and the Scarlet Witch.

They're rather rare in Marvel aren't they? I mean sure Emma is available here to do so but aside from her who is there in Marvel? Professor X, Jean Grey, Rachel Summers, Moondragon...

I'm pretty sure the Avengers have never had one officially on their team. (Maybe Dr Druid? Maybe?)

Telepaths can be blocked by either the means of a helmet (similiar to Magneto's or Juggernaut, Psi-Shields and the several other methods that have been shown over the years.

Yep, and Tony Stark has been known to build psi-shields into his armor as effective as Magneto's helmet, no reason he couldn't give them to all the Avengers. Shoot, way back when, freaking college students (at ESU, admittedly, IIRC) were shown to have access to telepathic jamming technology powerful enough to shut Professor X down and give him a headache; no reason they couldn't have a far more powerful jammer set up on the Helicarrier.

I do believe it's been shown multplie times that Magneto can take control of Cap's shield.

If he can twist around adamantium, he could do horrible things to Cap's shield. {Option #1: Suppository!)

While I agree that it's likely within Magneto's powers to affect the shield, I'm not sure he would be able to significantly deform it. Cap's shield is a lot stranger than adamantium (actually, on a molecular level, it's weirder than either Mjolnir or Silver Surfer, according to Owen Reese, who should know.

Or just take control of the iron in Cap's blood and rip apart his insides. (Llorna knocked out EVERY X-person doing that once. If she can do it, Mags can.)

Seems to me that the X-Men have more heavy hitters.

That has always annoyed me as the iron in blood has almost virtually no magnetic charge. For the blood to affected like that in requires an extremely large charge. So large that something magnetically charged about kilometer away will attracted to the source. So that means if Magneto does do that everyone in the area will affected and close by metal will be like bullets.

Because of the scene from X2, I have often seen people not want an MRI because they are worried the same thing will happen and it takes a doctor or nurse to convince them it is safe while ignoring the radiographer insistence that is safe.

Magneto did that to the Avengers back in the 70s, I think--he actually mind-controlled them by manipulating the blood in their brains. Which is a pretty stupid example of power creep, IMO. Cap wears scale mail armor around his upper body, that's much more obvious and plausible.

Or just, y'know, straightjacket him with his scalemail armor. I'm pretty sure that's made of metal. I mean, if could be some sort of ceramic armor, but even then there are probably some sort of metal components somewhere in it. (the idea of an EM-path being able to control iron in blood is kind of waaay outside my range of suspension of disbelief; at that point, they'd be better off just reaching for buried sewer lines to attack with like Static did in one of the episodes of his cartoon series, which just makes more sense, imho)

Wasn't his shield reforged with space (aka Asgardian) metal anyway post Fear, Itself; or am I being confused? So should we expect it to behave exactly the same it did in the past?

He has never been able to deform the Shield. He has been able to move it though

Also whenever Magneto has deformed Adamantium it has been Secondary only. True Adamantium cannot be deformed by Magneto. And before someone goes and brings up Wolverine's skeleton, it is Beta Adamantium. How many types of Adamantium are there nowdays?

To be fair, the Defenders isn't so much a team as an argument that occasionally points in the same general direction.

But yeah, general sentiment agreed.

Fair enough. Namor and Stephen generally don't engage in more than verbal sniping against each other, though. I'd rather see them in the role of grumpy elder statesmen peacemakers once the kids start making a lot of noise with the fighting.

You mean the current Defenders?

Old Defenders were a team, at least once, hell Hulk considered Strang, Surfer and Namor his friend.

That probably counted for something (at least until the sending him to space part).

I'd trust Strange on this one. He'll be playing a middle of the road thing, probably to keep Wanda in control and figure out the phoenix. Aside from the whole Illuminati deal, he has been remarkably good at just being relatively reasonable. The only one I consistently really like after all the team v. team nonsense.
