Hey. Hey. Hey, Wolverine? Wolverine? Remember the last you and the Phoenix hung out? Y'know, right after it saved all those mutant kids from the U-men? When it stopped you from burning to death in the sun? Nice to see you paying it back by trying to murder a teenage girl.


Also, fingers crossed on the divorce thing. Though since divorce is apparently illegal in the Marvel universe, maybe they'll just kill Storm off or have T'challa trade her to Mephisto for a pack of Bugles or something.

Because it will make T'challa so much more interesting.

i agree... EVERYONE seems to be forgetting that the last... FEW times the phoenix has been around she was a hero. WHY is everyone forgetting this....

i still think i will hate this series if Jean does not in some way come back and basically says "I'm dead 10 years and THIS is what happens? Okay, it's settled im never dying again...."

and again.... people are being stupid... When cap came, he didn't come to talk. he came to say "This is how it's going to be."

any conflict with the avengers vs the x-men i am gonna always side with the x-men.

like emma said: Where were the avengers when genosha was blown up, where were teh avengers when a religious fanatic blew up a school bus full of students. The x-men were in stamford, helping pull bodies from the rubble. Where were the avengers to help the x-men bury thier dead?

Cap didn't want to kill Hope, he wanted to move her off planet... I think.

Captain America is never wrong. Even if he's a little wrong here, it seems to be Cyclops is more wrong. If Cyclops had said something like "It has to be Hope's decision" I could understand and respect his stand. Instead, Scott is all "I hate you! I've always hated you! Dr. Erskine created you to kill mutants!"

Because Marvel wanted an excuse to have the Avengers and X-men throw down.

The Avengers' stance is stupid and based entirely on a bad first impression: Nova's report that the Phoenix had eaten a planet and was on its way to Earth.

Cyclops' stance is also stupid because he actually wants to invite an entity capable of wiping out entire worlds to Earth.

Really, both teams ought to ask Doctor Strange or the Fantastic Four -- heroes who deal with cosmic and mystical entities capable of destroying entire worlds on a regular basis -- what to do about this.

Y'know, considering the amount of stupid that exists both within this series and in the Marvel Universe in general, why hasn't anyone considered that just letting the world burn might actually be the best option?

Maybe this is the End of the World that Isaac Newton, Master of Shield, foretold?

This is how the world ends: two groups of the world's "greatest heroes" fighting amongst themselves (AGAIN!!!!) while an eldritch creature that devours planets approaches, with one of said heroes attempting to weaponise said abomination to blackmail the rest of the world into respecting them?

T'Challa, Storm, the current Black Panther, and Wakanda have a big story coming up in the Fantastic Four this summer with major changes in the wind.

Reading between the lines in Hickman's latest CBR interview, apparently AvX-induced changes are what prompted him to quit writing the Fantastic Four this October instead of starting another arc, which is another sin we can lay at the foot of this monstrosity.

Okay, so this whole thing is still stupid, but Logan trying to kill Hope isn't a big deal to me, basically because in a previous issue of Uncanny Logan TOLD Hope that if this happened he'd be the one that would have to step up and take her out because no one else would do it. And Hope was okay with it. She even told him that if it came to that, that he didn't even have to make it quick, he just had to make it SURE. So really this is just Logan doing what he said he was gonna do.

Anyhoo, just sitting here waiting for Jean to show up and fix everything.

The bottom line seems to be, the writers of this story are basically ignoring every story involving the Phoenix since the Dark Phoenix saga, INCLUDING the story that brought Jean back.

Hence, the fact that there's a previous host of the Phoenix on earth, who actually WORKS FOR WOLVERINE, simply doesn't matter. Hope is going to be Phoenix, and the Phoenix is going to be a threat.

Really, the only ending that would make any sense would be if, at the end of this, we discover that Hope has been merely the chrysalis for Jean all this time....

I'm actually less concerned with what happens in the actual event, because I'm sure everyone will be at the very least more stupid than usual (and in most cases completely OOC to fit with what's needed for the plot), but I AM worried for what these "changes" that are supposedly coming to the MCU are. I can't imagine they're gonna be good ones.

In this case, it seems both sides don't have enough information, and Cyclops is being overly optimistic.

I assume Wolverine made the decision alone to try and kill Hope because no way in hell would anyone else have signed off on that. Once again, all Cap wanted to do was protect her and instead of talking, people respond with optic blasts and now all hell breaks lose. It's on.

Also when is the artist changing? I don't hate Romita's art. I don't mind it, but in regards to events..I prefer someone else.
