So if Jean died at the end of New X-Men, doesn't that mean that the Phoenix Force is on it's own? Who's to say that saving Logan wasn't just Jean's part of the meld that melted away when she died?

oh because Jean (and as it has been alluded to for YEARS) is currently "recuperating" collecting "parts of herself" until she is ready to come back. Shards of the phoenix have been pulled from other hosts for a while now, and hints that Jean herself is still around has also been in most of the x-men stories....

So...the wild, destructive Phoenix Force is in control, until at the end all the shards of Jean come back together and she stops the Phoenix from destroying everything. Ka-boom. I hope to get a No Prize if that happens.

actually... no... jean is recuperating WITH the Phoenix... all these... things are just shards of the phoenix... (i am almost positive that what ever is coming is not even the actual phoenix force, but the largest "shard" of the phoenix, probably the one that was farthest away...) and its not JUST the wild and destructive side of it... as we saw in It;'s coming. its also the rebirth side come with it.
