	Exactly! I've heard some people say it's a bit bland (and, granted, their first big arc was half-JLA story), but hey, I like the characters, and they're genuinely heroic. I'm in the middle of catching up with them now. (Reply to this) (Thread from start) (Parent)

	To be fair, I think it shows that he did try, by making Hal an idiot who babbles quips around Batman, and moments like Hal and Barry acting Booster/Beetle by drooling over Wonder Woman, etc. But yeah, pretty much missing the mark. 	I always thought that era's best time was the first year or two, where it had a good balance of comedy and quality adventure. After a while, it diverged so far into comedy and devolved into such stock parodies of themselves that it just annoyed the shit out of me. 	From what I read, the first year or so of it was decent enough--they had the melding of humor and adventure down pat. The problem came when they veered more into comedy than adventure. I like comedy as much as the next guy, but...that's not what I read Justice League for. (Reply to this) (Thread from start) (Parent)
