8 issues of practically utter nonsense; a Darkseid arc that was, let's face it, padded for trade...

...and ONE PAGE of a fight and a story that could have been interesting.

Ironically, Johns mentioned in interviews that he's going for a tone in-between those very two versions of the League: The Bwahaha era and the Morrison era.

I like interpersonal conflict and clashing egos as much as the next reader, but I also like heroes who are...well yanno, *likeable*.....everything I read with this new JLA just makes me wish Despero would come and stomp 'em all already :P

Also ca they really never have expanded when in the current continuity Bruce has still be out of action with a broken back and Hal stll became Parallax?

This is one of the few times where someone remembered just how frigging powerful J'onn is. I approve of that spread.

Though I agree. Seeing it in a story? Would have been more ideal.

To be fair, I think it shows that he did try, by making Hal an idiot who babbles quips around Batman, and moments like Hal and Barry acting Booster/Beetle by drooling over Wonder Woman, etc.

But yeah, pretty much missing the mark. Instead of being funny and lovable, he made them sound like frat bros.
