M'Gann remembers what it was like in the womb? ...Well that's an interesting addition to the things we've learnt about Martians in the show.

The best bit being the Sorcerer Priests and Priestesses of Mars. Which is actually a comic I'd read.

Also, looks like it is canon that Atlantean is derived from Greek after all. Makes sense.

Kind of odd that King Shark (Aquaman villain in the original comics) is portrayed here as a teenager and in a more neutral light, though that "feast on all of Poseidonis" line is a bit ominous.

Also, Ocean Master is a jerk. Yeah the other members of the Light are also jerks, but Ocean Master is a RACIST jerk.

I got the strong impression that Ocean Master was just using the racism as a tool to recruit minions, that he didn't actually believe it himself.

I really wish they have Superboy act more like this in the show... rather being the lone silent ANGRY person of the team (yeah, that fits him like how Goku went to High School, or Guy Gardner being actor trying to find a job)... I just hope the show, or the comics, have him crashing into the Kent Farm, have to help Ma Kent with farm work while fending off Kyrpto (remember when he hate dogs than monkeys?)

He gets better in later episodes. And he probably wouldn't have problems with a superpowered dog. He is the proud owner of a superpowered WOLF after all.

Yeah, but he still acts like he a rod up the butt of the rod up his butt. He hardly makes an expression outside of brooding or being mad up until he told Megan he knew about her true form the whole time where he actually smile. Kell-El wasn't as stiff in the LoSH cartoon...

To be fair, he's an angsty teenager who's also barely a year old. He has a LOT of issues. When he's with M'gann, he seems to act happier than elsewhere. Part of that is probably because she knows him the best.

So, maybe Superboy's development in the show is going to be him letting his guard down more and more.

Okay, but that makes me ask: WHY is he angsty? That Superman, a person whom he was program to replace after taking him down and was happy to fill his shoes when he thought he died, doesn't really fully accept him, mostly because he think he not up to raise him? Or the fact he doesn't have all his powers? I would say he is angst about being raised in a tube, but he really has no life outside of it before it.

In DBZ; the reason why Androids 18 and 19 were rebellious is because they were humans that Gero experimented on, taking away their normal lives
In Avatar, Zuko is angst because he own actions and opinions got him disgraced and rejected by his father, banished from his kingdom; all the while living in the shadow of his little sociopath sister who out does him in EVERYTHING he tries to do.
Lance from Sym-Bionic Titan is an orphaned boy who saw his father "disappearing" in a transport beam to be sent him who knows where, raised in a military school under the rule of a snobish bully, been blamed for killing his comrades in arms by his superior officer who was a traitor, and then is sent to earth while his distant father figure being held captured and tortured. Heck, even HE loosen up after going to high school for a couple of weeks!

I know it's cheap for me comparing him to other characters, I don't see why he has to be all angry in which he hates how other teens wear superhero t-shirts! I just want to see him NOT being so serious and gruff. I like how he was the first to come out with his secrets and help the others to do so to, but...I want to see him doing stuff like trying to feed chickens, only to be overwhelmed by them like how Link gets pecked to death by Cukos...

When he first woke up he was little more than a blank slate living weapon that hadn't been fully "programmed". That's bound to cause some issues. His temper is also partially due to the complications of cloning Kryptonian DNA -- Cadmus had to mix Superman's DNA with a human donor to create a sane clone. His full Kryptonian predecessor Match is a downright crazy berserker.

The "relationship" between Superboy and Superman in this show is...complicated, and fortunately doesn't get brought up too often. As for the whole "being upset about people wearing Superman merchandise", he gets over that fast. In a later episode "Misplaced", he actually smiles when a toddler wearing a superman themed shirt takes comfort from his "costume".

Judging from the aside with Morrow and his androids, I'd say before the episode where they invaded Mt. Justice and kidnapped Red Tornado, and following the Psimon adventure since Conner and M'gann are an item at this point.

They're not an item this issue. They're merely... very attracted. This issue takes place right before the episode that showed Ms. Martian and Superboy's first day of school, as the final page indicates.
