Newsarama have a preview for SA #26

Beast has a nightmare about Jean's original Dark Phoenix rampage, and being a nightmare it ends badly... They mention (annoyingly) that the original aim of the Phoenix was to burn things on a cosmic scale... so much for the "Avatar of Life", but I think we know that ship has sailed thanks to this ruddy crossover.

At least Brian is defending Rachel's time as the Phoenix. Beast defending Jean is in character, but given that she DID go Dark Phoenix and Rachel never did, I'm not sure that his POV has much going for it.

And then in another WTF moment.... Thor walks in... or rather reels, along with Valkyrie.

Now Thor doing a bit of carousing I can sort of see, and I know Norse legend tends towards the fatalistic, but even so... this seems most unlike him. He's faced down Ragnarok, he'd be girding his lois, not drowning his sorrows.

Though I like Brian acknowledging that him getting drunk is never a good idea.

Interesting art style here, a pleasant change from the norm.

The Morrison arc was the most interesting she'd been for ages I agree, but it felt like such a closed loop of a story arc. Where could she have gone as a character from there if she had not been killed?

Her primary human relationship (Scott) was already lost to her (through both his affair with Emma, and her own growing powers making her more distant), I think about the only thing left to do was have her leave Earth for... well, wherever.
