I must confess, that after Beast Wars I have not kept up with the different versions of the Transformers, being turned off by some of the later versions of the rich mythology.

With that said, Transformers: Autocracy has grown on me. ComicBookResources
has the preview of issue #8, and this one scene just makes me feel the spirit and power of old.
(Translation: I can hear the 80's character voices saying the words as I read)





Yes, I hear Peter Cullen as I read that frame, and I get the fan-gasm.

I prefer his Prime take to the G1...there's an annoying screechiness to it in G1, that doesn't suit Megatron near so well as it does Starscream.

There's a darker, more dramatic tone to it.

I just miss Chris Latta as Starscream.

Latta was a fine actor, but I think Steve Blum does a great job, too - my default voice for Screamer in my mind is a blend of Latta and Blum - about as high as Latta's but with Blum's delivery.

(Tom Kenny also did a great job in Animated, but since he wasn't paired with Cullen and Welker, he's kind of beside the point.)
