We saw the preview earlier, and at times I can hear The Hangover movie theme playing in the background as I read this fun issue, and at times I hear "How do you solve a problem like Maria?"

yeah, I'm weird like that.

So many choice pages to post, but I have already posted 2, so I can only do 2 more.

Yes, that is Mary Jane Watson getting funky with Johnny Storm.

actually, in most of my interpretations of lancelot most of his love for guinevere mostly comes from his love of arthur and his inability to express that (except for in Mists of Avalon where he actually DID express it, stll didnt end too well)

... he's still a sucky friend no matter how you slice it?

it doesn't matter where his ~luv comes from, sleeping with a friend's significant other does not an amazing best bud makes.

it's backstabbing at its finest.

yeah.... but the Arthur Guinevere lancelot story, aside from Mort D Artur (which only ever glanced over it) was a lot more complicated than that.....

Is it? Guinevere was married to Arthur, she and Lancelot had the hots for each other. She cheated on the man she married, and Lancelot slept with his King/best friends wife.

What's complicated about that?

depends on which interpretations you are reading. some of it is interpreted as Lancelot's displaced or confused love for Arthur. Another interpretation was that Arthur was more concerned with camelot than with guinevere (and though he DID love her he neglected her) in many interpretations and translations Arthur KNEW about the relationship and while he could not officially condone it, he over looked it because they were both people he loved and he knew that he had not been as attentive as he could/should have been. really, if they were just allowed to have the three way, things would ahve worked out (Arthur/Guinevere/lancelot are the poster children for "One True Threesome")

yeah, i've read mists, too, and i still found lancelot a piece of shit douchebag friend in that, too.

i just really don't care for either lancelot or guinevere in mosts versions of the legend, tbh. they just rub me in the worst possible way. i'm in it for arthur, iseult and the witches.

Most of the versions I've read has it that Lancelot loves Arthur too much to run away with Gvuienvere but loves Guienevere too much to stay away (permanently, he tends to try) Gwen loves Arthur too much to just elope and Lancelot too much to let him go, and Arthur loves both of them too much to get in the way of the fact that they love each other.

Hence tragedy.

Is it really love if by staying you KNOW you're causing pain to two other people, and possible devastation to their realm?

i think we're all reading differemt versions (i read le morte, the once and future king, and mists out of the really famous ones, ftr), because in the ones i read, i... don't really see that much love going around?

only in mists, and mists is complicated because arthur was into morgaine.

in TO&FK, arthur is mostly into his duty, and the drama rests more on lancelot/guinevere and elaine. gwen doesn't really gives a fuck about arthur, lance does in a twisted way. both are horrible people (imo).

Not necessarily, no. It’s not backstabbing when everyone’s consenting. There are such things as non-monogamous relationships, you know? I’m in one, and I for one would just love it if a best bud of mine started a relationship with my spouse.

Except that's not the deal Guinevere signed up for when she entered into a monogamous marriage, she acts to suit herself and tries to have her cake and eat it too by having Lancelot AND Arthur when she knows full well that that can NEVER work.

She didn't exactly get a choice when it came to "signing up" though, did she?

I don't think you can swing it that way.

Because in most interpretations where Arthur knows about the relationship, he is still hurt by it.

So no, it's really not a non-monogamous relationship.

he's hurt by it, but in most cases i think he is hurt by the fact that they are trying to cover it up.

anyways, the Arthur, Lancelot, Guinivere .... triad was far more complicated than most relationships

To be fair, though, Johnny DID say he was messing with Pete's head (and probably MJ's head, too, if that indeed really was her on the phone), thus implying nothing happened between himself and MJ. Otherwise, Peter would have knocked Johnny's head clean off his shoulders rather than cursing to himself like he did. I mean, one would think someone like Johnny would regard "The Bro Code" as akin to the Bible, right?

Just wait till MJ here's that that's what Johnny was doing, Peter will need to get in line to punch his lights out!

hence why i put peter as arthur as in my head arthur is the center of the triagle... though for the A/G/L thing, triangle does not seem like the right word.... it's more like they are all attracted to eachother and love eachother in different ways, yet to an equal extent.... if that makes ANY sense (i LOVE Arthurian myth!)
