Avengers vs. X-men #3 preview

ComicBookResources.com has the preview of #3, as the split in the argument on the Avenger's side is revealed and hot heads lock horns.



As I have argued before, Captain America only wants to take Hope to someplace where the Phoenix cannot reach her and contain the problem. Logan has a more... permanent.... solution.

I am sorry, but thats just stupid.

They are on a transport going somewhere, have a disagreement, and so Cap punches him. I dunno man, when I disagree with a co-worker when they tell me "I don't agree with your idea", my default reaction is not to hit them with a chair.

I guess they did not want to spend panels with a protracted argument between them that would make sense to lead to blows. But still... And this is Brubaker? Man, I expect more from him then this. I hope the preview is just making this look worse then it really is.

Really? When someone disagrees with me at work, that's my first reaction. That's probably the reason people usually only disagree with me through emails/interns.

Someone (I think it was at a girl-woner.org) used to have a pretty interesting thing about how in superhero comics any kind of conflict is going to be channeled into punching. These guys punching each other out is semiotically the same thing as them having a loud argument would be in a different setting.

Really what they should have done is throw Logan out an open door over some remote part of the US or over an uninhabited island. The fall wouldn't kill him and the time it'd take him to heal and get back into the fray would be enough time to actually get a good game plan together.
