My reaction was pretty much the same as Hermes' here,

*Sigh* Another one of the female members of the female Bat Family members has bitten the dust, it appears. Though the question not arises as to whether Dinah, Barbara etc. know what happened to the original Helena, since Fake!Helena has been impersonating her for an unknown amount of time.

So, for Earth-2, Lois and Selina have died so their husbands can angst (a Batman tormented and driven by the loss of a loved one? How original!), and Helena B. died off panel at some point so Helena W. could have a secret identity?

Which also doesn't make Helena W. and Power Girl come off too well since they're casually flipping through other (possibly dead) women's passports. Are we really supposed to believe the daughter of Batman and Catwoman couldn't come up with a fake identity on her own?

Well the Lois thing is original for me. I would have killed Bruce, that would not only fortified Selina´s influence on Helena but also gaved her some one to idolize.

And mother-sister struggle is always fun to write. The Lois death could have work to strenght the relationship of Kara and Clark, in a world when Kara arrived when Clark and Lois were already married and served as parent figures.

Or just because Im a sadic bastard and want to see how the man of steel deals with losing the lady, he did some annoyng "last minute" saves in the old days.

The whole "more angsty" Batman sound like a joke.

Killing Lois as a plot device is hardly a new or original concept when it's been used ad nauseam throughout the 1990s and even right up to the Flashpoint event that rebooted the entire universe. In fact, someone even wrote an article addressing this issue specifically. Other notable works that use a dead Lois as a plot device include Kingdom Come, Distant Fires, JLA Created Equal, and Superman: Kal to name a few.

Also, we had this conversation last time about why WiR is a problematic trope.

I just remember Kingdom Come, the others doesnt sound.

I just remember Lois beign shot, crushed, etc. And always coming back without any scratch. Like she has a cosmic shield protecting her.

Like Batman in the Brave and the Bold TV show was mentoring even Doctor Fate.

I got nothing against Lois or Batman but sugesting the death of Lois Lane still give me chills like "Wow she is really dead"

Still I think if a work is good no one is going to notice or make a deal about It.

I shouldnt really play thw devil's advocate with a castle in the clouds

I just read the article,It seems like a recent fashion. I couldnt help to laugh a little with the absurd of the situation, four times within a year, is like a joke, I just cant belive they did It, sounds like a simpsons parody.

I was sad they did that to Lois in flashpoint, i read the supergirl conicbox review of Project Superman and I liked thr character.

But I think no one does this with mysogeny, they just didnt care, even if the results can be really misogdnistic. Material causes are that they are not focusing in a female audience and the higher ups are too reactionary to allow any real change.

Is about targeting demographics and fear of changing the bussines. Mysogeny shows for material reasons, not because of a starting ideological position. I agree that there is a loop based on a formula the industry sells and that has defined the genre.

And since superhero comics is dominated by Marvel and DC they are who define the rules. If they dont set to compete for a new demographic no one will do It.

It goes far beyond the genre issues, this are just a subproduct of reception (a big deal indeed, but it does not equal a misogenystic nature of the production.

But while more DC neglect the reader responce then more problems are they going to find for geting new readers. But that is another issue
