Matt finally goes on a date with ADA Kirsten! Enlists the help of a bodyguard:



Ms Kirsten asks Matt if Foggy is his bff, and Matt tells the story about how they met in Columbia. They were roommates, ofc, but first impressions were NOT GOOD - at least Matt's impression of Foggy wasn't, anyway. (Understandable, imo, Foggy looks like he smells.) But then they were united by UNJUST ACCUSATIONS! Foggy was accused of plagiarizing a paper, you see. Matt and honorable judge Bobble to the rescue:

Kirsten is so dead. Maybe Waid won't kill her, but you bet the next writer will. He or she will also bring back the Hand, the Kingpin and Bullseye, becasue "that's how Daredevil rolls".

lol and they were ambushed while sharing a kiss at the end of this issue.

that said, i'll be surprised if waid makes a forever girl out of kirsten, i think she's just a really fun hook-up.

at least i hope so. i already like her more than i liked milla, but if there's one guy i wish would keep his dating within the superhero community, it's matt.

Ah, but it's not Matt's fault. He isn't the one writing his stories.

lol i know! i'm just salty that superheroes-dating-superheorines never became a THING (well, outside the mutant community). i can never quite cheer for hero/damsel pairings, especially not in cases like matt's.

then again, my otp for matt is elektra and she wasn't a civilian and she still died, welp. :[

I think the real problem is that ever since Elektra, every other writer that's done Daredevil wants to give him that same "dead girlfriend angst". Much like the "mutant angst" it gets old pretty quickly.

that is indeed the real problem, but i'm just not here anymore for hero/civilian lady romantic couples in general, you know? even when they abstain from fridging the lady. i don't even care for spidey/mj and lois/clark. they just don't work for me, idk why.

oh wait, tony/pepper in the movies do! but that's about it.

but always pairing superheroes, doesn't it get to the point where it feels like they're only together because of their powers

lol are you asking if it feels like that *to me*? not really. do people who date and marry within their own ethnic/ethno-religious group get together ONLY because they belong to the same ethnic/ethno-religious group? idts.

i dig the equality, it's just a dynamic that appeals to me more than super-hero/civilian gf.

I think part of the problem is that a lot of them generally use the same trope of "oh noes my girl/boyfriend's been kidnapped/assaulted/murdered by my arch nemesis!" Which can happen to super-powered partners, too, but then they have more of a shot of making it out with little to know injury or psychological trauma.
