So apparently I missed this, which I've hastened to rectify because I shall not miss out of anything of the great Magnus family EPIC TRAGEDY.

Context: Ironman has just rebuilt/awakened Vision and brings him up to date with what happened in Disassembled, and him and She-Hulk make sure to namedrop Magneto in a blaming way because Bendis doesn't write in a contrived way at all and apparently nobody believes Doom.

So Vision decides to pay his former father-in-law a visit.

... well that was brutal.

(Don't ask me how that fits with the Vision's one tear of sadness when Wanda did visit the Avengers in AvsX #0).

So the Vision must be the most conflicted guy ever. First he basically tells Wanda to go fuck herself and the Avengers back him up in an utterly bros before hos manner, and now he's all "I NEED MY HUGGY WANDA WOOBIE BOOBOO!". Make up your mind, guy!

Also, Magneto - Really not helping portray your side as good guys when you stoop to the usual level of 'superhero misunderstanding fight' without it even being a misunderstanding.

I think the thing with Wanda was after, timeline wise. Still pretty weird of him. Hilariously, both were written by Bendis.

You know... Magneto was not particularly nice at first (which I'm not sure why unless I'm missing some background which is very possible given how little I've read with Vision); but after Vision actually asked him why he didn't kill himself yet... I can't blame him for losing his cool. Because, dude, not cool.

Maybe he reflected on events and considered he might have overreacted? I mean, it was the trauma of losing their children that caused Wanda to cause Disassembled and all the other stuff, and he felt that pain as well. I mean, there was that scene in JLA/Avengers where the two of the are looking out into space (having seen a vision of how their universe would be once it was fixed) and Vision simply says, 'I know, my love.'

That was a very sweet scene.

Magneto went way beyond "superhero misunderstanding" there. Asking someone why they don't kill themselves is dickish. Monologuing about you can control someone's body and force them to do horrible things without feeling any guilt is out-and-out supervillain.

"and apparently nobody believes Doom."

Considering how half-assed and shitty the end of Children's Crusade was, they really shouldn't.

Also, with the way Vision's thrown out, I can't help but think of this.

yeah, Doom's "I was I all along!" was pretty half assed, so that part is no surprise. But to blame Magneto, of all people, for Disassembled OR Decimation (>_>) felt just... pretty facepalmey.

This again feels like the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Vision is written one way, not wanting to know Wanda from anything, and now...oh i want to speak to her. Someone please make up their mind, or give us a page of Vision thinking about Wanda and reconsidering his decision, anything would be nice. These constant shifts are really annoying. And if Vision was going to let Magneto go, why now just drop his density to nothing so he's a ghost and can't be affected? He's not an idiot.

I stopped paying attention to anything Bendis years ago, when I came to the conclusion that I was never going to care for the haphazard way he shoves characters into preassigned story roles. I still check back in on occasion, though. Sometimes, it's something like Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man, which I ''want'' to like, but just feels so thin. Other times, it's something like this. Characters acting like assholes for no good reason is not the same as conflict.

I'm really getting annoyed at how Mags' adult male kin feel free to blame him for all their own shortcomings. I get that he's desperate enough for some kind of a relationship that he lets them, but it still stinks.

Mags really does seem to have an easier time with his relationship with female characters in general (with a handful of exceptions like Xavier and, recently, Scott).

I do think Pietro has some basis for grief there, as his first contact with Magneto was being drafted into the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and turned into a supervillain/terrorist.

Different Visions. The Vision from Young Avengers, aka Jonas, is, err, no longer amongst us. This Vision, the original Vision who used to be married to Wanda, has been brought back very recently in Avengers.

Kind of petty and manipulative for the Avengers to pin blame on Magneto for the Diassembled stuff (we all know it's really editorial's fault), but I can see why they'd do it. It's easier to blame the former supervillain terrorist for the bad stuff that went down that day instead of one of their own.

As for Vision's wildly inconsistent characterization concerning Wanda, it all depends on which of the events came first. If this happened before he chewed out Wanda, it would actually make sense. Vision just had some time to think about what Magneto said and realized that the man had a point -- Wanda is a grown woman who was ultimately responsible for her own actions.

Well, If all he does is change his density, then Magneto should still be able to grab him. There would just be less of him to grab. But, since we've seen Mags grab bullets out of deep space, I doubt it would bother him.
