Great stuff. As far as I'm concerned, many of the Marvel comics of this era made up the true "Golden Age." Fun, never dumbed-down, not trying way too hard to be "edgy" and "adult" (and so failing abysmally and ending up logically incoherent, like Brad Meltzer's stuff), full of color and flash and humor (like Ben being sucker-punched just as he's talking up how experienced he is) and the occasional poignant moment.

I like the casual way the rig workers deal with the Thing, as if he's not all that special, maybe just a pushy celebrity (as he would be considered in the MU).

I like that the Thing calls Stingray "Newell" when they're along, but is careful to say "Stingray" around the public. That's the kind of attention to detail that the new breed of "edgy" writers forget, and end up looking idiotic for (cf., again, Meltzer's stupid resolution to have the JLA call each other by their "real" names at all times, even in battle).

And everyone loves C-listers. They're what make the comics universes, universes.
