First, Hope getting Logan via a trail of beer and Logan wearing polar bear skins was ingeniously funny.

Second, I really liked their interaction--even though he alerted the Avengers to her position, it seems like he at least groks what she's saying and is giving her a chance...if he didn't, he would have just knocked her out while she was still sleeping and dropped her ass off at Avengers Tower.

probably thought it made sense to bring her to the moon and he might as well do so with her cooperation (and it does, make sense, that is). But he could have killed her right away and didn't, so yeah, he's listened to that much of what Hope said (she's obviously not yet in Dark Phoenix mode) and of what Cap said.

See, we're starting to reach the point in this event when I go: okay, what now? It doesn't matter who wins, Avengers or X-men, because in the end the giant cosmic force is going to do whatever the hell it wants. So far, it seems like everything the Avengers and X-men are fighting over pretty much amount to "where do we want to put Hope? 'cause even if we don't want the Phoenix possessing her, there's not a whole lot we can do about it."

Hell, the only one who has a half-practical idea to stop the Phoenix from possessing Hope is Wolverine, though killing her probably wouldn't do squat diddily since rebirth is sorta the Phoenix's thing.

Seriously, what is the point of the Avengers and X-men fighting?

Logan is such a fucking tool. This arc has really made me kind of despise the guy. Then again, I've been slowly trending that way since schism. The whole "I'm right, no matter what, and anybody who disagrees gets ignored or shanked" bullshit is atavastic thowback crap.

The Phoenix has never actually threatened Earth has it? It's avatar has threatened people on Earth. But, it's never tried to consume the planet or extinguish life on it.

I think it just may be that Hope is a bit of a "red herring" if you will excuse the pun. I really think the writers have been building up to something else:

The Phoenix is coming for Quentin Quire.

It's been hinted at in and outside of canon. He's had brushes with the entity before. He's "come back from the death", as it were. He has existed, dormant in a non-corporeal state, as a form of energy inside a jar. Of course I don't need to mention his appearance in the White Hot Room. And he has been a major player in SCHISM, WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN, and WATXM: ALPHA AND OMEGA.

Just saying, folks. Don't let your heads be turned by a pretty face. I don't always get the right reads on this sort of thing, but they have been laying groundwork for this for the last decade.

Honestly, at this point I just hate everything about Wolverine. I mean - I hated that he tried to kill Hope. And now I hate that when he had the chance, he didn't actually go through with it. LOL.

Seriously, though, this makes it so much worse - he's been given no new info, no nothing, so that he now decides he doesn't actually need to kill her right away only means there is NO excuse left for his earlier attempted murder.

Back in Avengers 136 Giant-man builds a portal connecting the Arctic with Antarctica and before he closes it a family of polar bears goes through.
