I thought it was meant to be Jaime trying in vein to lie about it. Besides, despite it all, he is a regular teenaged guy, and being in such close contact to someone like Bleez...it really couldn't have ended any differently.

Honestly that gag was the first time this has felt like the last Blue Beetle book to me.

Hopefully it's a sign that things will get better for Jaime and his clan--it's kinda painful to see, but I can see how suddenly gaining a damaged alien super-suit designed for genocide could turn out bad for you and everyone around you at first.
