The Thunderbolts are traveling through time and trying to get back to the present. They land in the recent past and meet the original team.

The young Fixer's death creates a time paradox that starts to destroy reality, and the older Fixer decides to fix it by taking his place (Ghost is the narrator here, trying to send a message back to Luke Cage).
Moonstone asks Fixer if he's really okay with this.
