Blackhawk: The Man in the Iron Mask (part 2)

Read Blackhawk: The Man in the Iron Mask (part 1)

Or by in after a short summery below, if you're uncool that way.

Six months (and six issues) have passed since the battle that took Andre. The Blackhawks have returned to the area in memorial...but danger awaits them!

Military Comics #9 (also posted here)

Forgive my odd resizing here. =/

Can I say with authority that this is the first come back saga? No, but I'll put it as one of the earliest ones.
Hey, fan fiction writers, want to make some dreams come true? I'll give you e-cookies and free press.

For interested parties, here are some Golden Age characters who might lend themselves to MistyGeek's fic request:

Flying Jenny.
The Black Angel.
Pat Parker, War Nurse, and the Girl Commandos.

Heard about this for years, never saw it before! I always thought the death and revival of Lightning Lad in Adventure Comics was the first example of a protagonist dying and coming back as a multi-issue story arc, but this predates it by a considerable stretch. In fact, the parallels are similar enough that I wonder if this was an influence on the Legion of Super-Heroes story.

I don't know whether to be irritated that Chop-Chop's dialect here is the lamest attempt I've ever seen in a comic ("Mlurder um"?) or just amused that he seems to be cursing a nonstop blue streak. "**@#** *B*#!!"
