Date: 2012-05-24 08:36 pm (UTC)I find myself agreeing with 90% of the ideas but the realisation is superficial, trivial. Morrison can write some bad stuff from time to time, but his writing in action comics seems rookie stuff. It has good pages, moments here and there, you see many people liking his superman, but is not something to "celebrate" a low standard in his ambiguous career.
I would agree this is the best superman's fans have seen in a lot of time (remember grounded?). Thing is among the crap that no one read the tiny bits thar are kind of good or even so-so are demeed like great series.
Wonder Woman puzzles me the most, In wich way is Azzarello best than other runs? How is this Wonder Woman better than the pre-reboot? Azzarello seems to know greek mythology for wikipedia.
Im happy Batman Inc. came back Im hoping the same quality as pre reboot.

In theory, it's no more confusing than any other continuity that starts in media res, like say the YOUNG JUSTICE cartoon. But that's provided there's someone keeping track to make sure all the writers are on the same page about what's kept and what's discarded, and it seems like DC's not doing a very good job at the "keeping track" part.

I know some people hates Morrison, but Its the only hope I have for the Batfam other than Snyder.

This sets two precedents, first gaves a little hope that Morrison maybe could write a good Cass Issue, but also seems he used the latest material when he went for reference.
The latest Cass solo series was writen by Beechen....
If we got lucky Morrison would base his Cass on Gates of Gotham, but even so Snyder take on Cass is not as good as Anderson Gabrych's.
Im exited but scared, cause Cass is a difficult character to write just "by ear". And I want a well done Cass not just a name and a face.
Any way I dont see Cass apearing anytime soon, maybe at the en of the year or in 2013.

I know they probably have gutted Steph's run down the trash but if they cleaned up Cass to have been Batgirl for 2 years that actually in the 3 year span of Babs not being Batgirl..gives a 9-12 month window for Steph to have held the title, even if just as Dick's temp Batgirl. Considering how many Robins they squeezed into 5 years and called it an intern program, they really have no room to say "there was no room" for three Batgirls.
That really could work. Considering following Bruce's disappearance we had Tim, Barbara and Cass go awol (or in Cass's case take up the name Black Bat and create a base in Hong Kong under preliminary Batman Inc orders) and leave Gotham leaving Gotham with Dick, Damian and Spoiler.
Why not have Spoiler filled in as Batgirl alongside Dick as Batman and Damian Robin trying to hold Gotham together following Bruce's death? No Oracle/Babs involvement needed. Considering both Steph and Damian were considered liabilities it makes sense that Dick would keep them both close for that time period on Bruce's orders. Why not just make it canon? I could care less if she's still Batgirl, but an offhand comment or single panel would mean a lot to fans who enjoyed her growth under the mantle and I wouldn't mind a designated labeling as her having been in the new52 a "temp" or makeshift Batgirl as Dick was a makeshift Batman.
Is DC that childish that no one else but Barbara can be Batgirl?
Bette has casually been sorta Bat-Girl for years and now that Kathy is a prominent figure in Inc, and pretty sure INC flashbacks have shown Bat-Girl I'm sure Bette if she survives in Batwoman may show up and have to explain some stuff. I remember pre-boot she even commented on Cassandra's costume once when first meeting her and said "Been there, done that"
Besides Babs is down to selling 40k from 100k in 9 months, that says something. Still doing solid but more than half have lost interest in her new Batgirl.
