FINALLY! I was pissed off with Morrison Action Comic, such a peter parkish clark kent, of course thats what you get when you put a Batman writer to reinvent a character.
But this seems good enough to call myself a Morrison fan again without the shame He forced unto me.

Yeah--it isn't so much that Clark Kent took Peter Parker's character and more that Stan Lee decided to do, "What would happen if Clark Kent was a teenager and had a different, more street-level power set?"

My bad, It was just for saying something.
I find myself agreeing with 90% of the ideas but the realisation is superficial, trivial. Morrison can write some bad stuff from time to time, but his writing in action comics seems rookie stuff. It has good pages, moments here and there, you see many people liking his superman, but is not something to "celebrate" a low standard in his ambiguous career.

I would agree this is the best superman's fans have seen in a lot of time (remember grounded?). Thing is among the crap that no one read the tiny bits thar are kind of good or even so-so are demeed like great series.

Wonder Woman puzzles me the most, In wich way is Azzarello best than other runs? How is this Wonder Woman better than the pre-reboot? Azzarello seems to know greek mythology for wikipedia.

Im happy Batman Inc. came back Im hoping the same quality as pre reboot.

No, that would be kinda meta, since SotI presumably never got published in the DCU, and as such, the notion of Superheroes supposedly having some kind of unsavoury sexual commentary is probably something that would tickle Morrison and allow him to take a jab at Wertham.

So.. Definitely meta, methinks.

Pretty much. As much as I really dislike Morrison at times, Wertham needs railing on, because the guy was fucking insane. It's a biased take in Morrison's Supergods when he's talking about Wertham, but unlike the rest of the hyperbole, Morrison's actually backed up by other accounts. Wertham was really, really nuts.

I'm glad he referenced the Leviathan group from the outsiders comic I always thought it was weird that they would allow two powerful groups to be called leviathan.

What group was this? I think what the scan is referring to is a scene from Batman Inc: Leviathan Strikes last year, not from an Outsiders comic.

I'm half wondering if this is set in the pre-Flashpoint universe, like Leviathan Strikes was. It carries the New 52 banner, which Leviathan Strikes didn't, but Batwing's 'death' doesn't sit entirely well with the fact he's currently headlining a book (where he's not 'dead'). If this is supposed to be set in the current continuity, the longer the 'Batwing is dead' part goes on, the weirder it'll be that it's only happening in Batman, Inc...

It depends on how long the entirety of Batman Inc takes place over, I guess? If it's a prolonged war against Talia, then it would be stupid to have Batwing declared dead for ages, but otherwise, it's still feasible.

Waitaminit... they're referencing Metamorpho surviving the Justice League satellite blowing up? The time he saved Icemaiden, Obsidian and Atom Smasher? Did that even happen in current continuity? Because apparently at least two of the three heroes he sacrificed himself for don't exist.

I am trying to convince myself in this new rebooted world there are pockets of the old universe seeping through that only affect the Bat related world. Bruce having "died" and then time traveled (since that appears to still be canon) the universal seepage seems to be centered around him.

That or I fall back to the Superboy punch again ;)

I like to think about this as the Morrisonverse, you know like the Millerverse that contained DK2 and All-Star Batman but actually good.

I seriously want that Morrison cames with a quacko explication for a Batgirl Steph and a Dick Batman. Even if It is like "It was all a dream of Damian who was dreaming with the old DCU".

I know some people hates Morrison, but Its the only hope I have for the Batfam other than Snyder.

I doubt It, from the solicits It seems Morrison is dealing with the whole Wingman identity before going the team ups that he did in the first Batman Inc. and in Leviatan Strickes.

Im really exited about seeing Cass and Steph in this series. I would also like to see Dick as Batman again and beign Damian's Onii-chan, also would like to see a better costume for Tim (and I want him out of the hideous 90's).... Reboot, I curse thee!

A part of me wants to think that its not Editorial jibing writers like Snyder and that its really Morrison as the one keeping Cass away from other writers because he has something planned for her (he was the one who by all accounts told Burnham to recreate her costume and gave her the Black Bat name - which ironically has probably helped her post-reboot more than Steph since there seemed to not be any Batgirls but Babs in the new DC). I actually like the idea (which is just fanon in my head) that she hasn't been used because she'll have a whole issue with her instead of a cameo here and there just like the other Batman Inc. gang.

And its both funny and sad that Freight Train (a Dan Didio creation from his horrible Outsiders run) has survived the reboot while the Dibnys, Jesssie Quick, Ted Kord, Wally West, Donna Troy, Obsidian and Jade have not.

Morrison is a really scary writer because you dont know what is going to do, I enjoyed Batman & Robin and Batman Inc. and most of his run of Batman, the new lema "Batman was never alone" seems to have the power to defeat the old fashion idea of the dark & gritty Batman or at least expand It.

Leviathan Strikes blow me away, seems Morrison can write a very kickass Steph and didnt disapoint the take Q.Miller did on the character.

This sets two precedents, first gaves a little hope that Morrison maybe could write a good Cass Issue, but also seems he used the latest material when he went for reference.

The latest Cass solo series was writen by Beechen....

If we got lucky Morrison would base his Cass on Gates of Gotham, but even so Snyder take on Cass is not as good as Anderson Gabrych's.

Im exited but scared, cause Cass is a difficult character to write just "by ear". And I want a well done Cass not just a name and a face.

Any way I dont see Cass apearing anytime soon, maybe at the en of the year or in 2013.

I honestly hope Cassandra is "cleaned-up" a bit by the reboot the next time she appears. Meaning she never went evil, that awful mini never happened, still has some dyslexia issues and is generally pretty quiet and does a lot of hand signals. Gates of Gotham was a tad too chatty.

She'd also have been Batgirl up until Bruce disappeared and Babs went to Africa for her surgery and year of rehab. It certainly cleans up the Batgirl debacle a bit.

I know they probably have gutted Steph's run down the trash but if they cleaned up Cass to have been Batgirl for 2 years that actually in the 3 year span of Babs not being Batgirl..gives a 9-12 month window for Steph to have held the title, even if just as Dick's temp Batgirl. Considering how many Robins they squeezed into 5 years and called it an intern program, they really have no room to say "there was no room" for three Batgirls.

That really could work. Considering following Bruce's disappearance we had Tim, Barbara and Cass go awol (or in Cass's case take up the name Black Bat and create a base in Hong Kong under preliminary Batman Inc orders) and leave Gotham leaving Gotham with Dick, Damian and Spoiler.

Why not have Spoiler filled in as Batgirl alongside Dick as Batman and Damian Robin trying to hold Gotham together following Bruce's death? No Oracle/Babs involvement needed. Considering both Steph and Damian were considered liabilities it makes sense that Dick would keep them both close for that time period on Bruce's orders. Why not just make it canon? I could care less if she's still Batgirl, but an offhand comment or single panel would mean a lot to fans who enjoyed her growth under the mantle and I wouldn't mind a designated labeling as her having been in the new52 a "temp" or makeshift Batgirl as Dick was a makeshift Batman.

Is DC that childish that no one else but Barbara can be Batgirl?

Bette has casually been sorta Bat-Girl for years and now that Kathy is a prominent figure in Inc, and pretty sure INC flashbacks have shown Bat-Girl I'm sure Bette if she survives in Batwoman may show up and have to explain some stuff. I remember pre-boot she even commented on Cassandra's costume once when first meeting her and said "Been there, done that"

Besides Babs is down to selling 40k from 100k in 9 months, that says something. Still doing solid but more than half have lost interest in her new Batgirl.
