There is much speculation, rumour and gossip concerning as to what Marvel will follow their Avengers Vs X-Men crossover event. We know that Marvel won’t reboot their universe, not even with a handy Phoenix. But I am expecting a lot of changing creative teams, new books and new issue ones. Although that’s hardly rocket science.
We’ve run the rumour that Brian Michael Bendis will take over the Xbooks, but I’m also hearing now at Phoenix Comicon that Jason Aaron may stay on Wolverine And The X-Men.
Speculation based on Bendis’ Avengers Assemble work and comments indicate that he may be writing a cosmic book… maybe Guardians Of The Galaxy, maybe Nova, maybe bringing the X-Men back into that world. Could an island off the coast not be enough of a separation from the rest of humanity? Might they need to wander the galaxy instead?
And I also heard yesterday that one of therelaunched, if not rebooted books, will be Iron Man, with the current hit creative team of Uncanny X-Men, Kieron Gillen and Greg Land, moving to that title. Of all the things I’ve heard, that seems the most solid.
At Kapow, Kieron Gillen mentioned on stage how many comics creators want to write Tony Stark right now. It looks like he may be getting his chance.

Date: 2012-05-28 05:15 pm (UTC)He put the characters sitting in a table talking and portrait everyone of them by their words. Now, actions speak louder.
If Logan (to put an example) is interesting is because of what he does not for what he says, cause anyone can speak. So all the emotions are build upond dialog, like if the avengers were a reality show.
Also Bendis cant narrate through images.
I really think he wants to do somethig like Wolfman's Teen Titans or Gage's Avenger Academy, something without "action scenes" but Wolfman never gave up on showing actions, beign a date or go shoping or wathever, the gd Jericho was mute!
Gage is a master in mixing dialog with actions, thats why he has so much character development, development is always through action. Blah blah blah.
I dont like Bendis, he is overrated and his style is under developed, he should really pay atention when people say to him he avances too slow, thats the first sign you arent telling anything

Date: 2012-05-28 06:36 pm (UTC)I dont say Im against chating, just against pasive plots, and to be fair yes the X-books were a little pasive cause the things just "entered by the window" some times.

It was already a dumb idea the first time.
"he may be writing a cosmic book… maybe Guardians Of The Galaxy, maybe Nova, "
Marvel really just want to piss me off.

Date: 2012-05-28 03:49 pm (UTC)Nay on Bendis writing marvel cosmic. That's DnA turf, dammit. I don't want Bendis screwing it up.
Gillen on Iron Man is good...but OH GOD NO to Land. Why does he still get work? His art is horrible, and he traces from both porn and in some cases other artists. They could probably hire some promising newcomers to cover his workload for a cheaper price and better quality.

Date: 2012-05-28 03:55 pm (UTC)not to me. :( i don't think he'll ever leave journey into mystery unless the book gets canceled and i'm not sure he'd be up to writing three books/month, so if he takes IM, he'll probably drop uxm.

Date: 2012-05-28 04:02 pm (UTC)That's not quite what he said. As I recall he said that lots of comics creators had wanted to write Tony Stark back in 2007/2008 when he was director of SHIELD. Which is not to say he doesn't harbour ambitions.

In that instance, the increase is in spite of Land, rather than because of him.
