scans_dailyBleedingCoolNews.com has the updated announcement of the naughty naughty new Green Lantern, and more Lantern news as the DCnU Zero Month of September rolls out.

Date: 2012-06-12 02:39 am (UTC)It could be for intimidation. To people unfamiliar with GLs, what's scarier? A guy wearing a pretty glowing ring, or a guy pointing a gun at you?
And as for the guy being a possibly Arabic villain -- why is that even an issue? Villainy isn't something exclusive to a certain ethnicity, gender, religion, etc. Just as long as comic writers and readers don't assume the guy is evil BECAUSE of his ethnicity, there's no problem.
