Already posted the Teen Titans one, one post down! :)

Gar is usually shown with a VERY furry chest, even Perez drew him that way way back in the 1980's... I'll try and dig some samples out if you haven't seen them.

Beast Boy being red will never stop being silly-looking to me I'm afraid, and his day glo shorts/skin pattern just looks odd.

And yes, Beast Boy should always have chest hair. Hell, more superheroes should. It's not an uncommon thing in real life.

He has longer than normal toes, and the ones on his right foot are curled, that's all, you can see them in their normal position on his left foot.

I have not been reading Teen Titans relaunch. Why is Beat Boy red? Why are they wearing Tron suits? Who is Skitter? She looks like an HR Giger drawing.

it has something to do with Animal man. He used to be green but there are events that took place in animal man that apparently affected him as well.

I assume it's related to Animal Man's new mythology of the Red, the Green, and the Rot. Or: animals, plants, decay. And considering Animal Man is a bazillion times better than Teen Titans right now I'm not going to complain.

eh i don't mind the tron suits. It might have to do with those suits being Culling tech, and them being rouge ravagers or something. (They are supposed to boost thier powers i think)

I've been wondering that myself. I liked that Dick had moved away from Robin red, now he'd got it back and he and his brothers are all too similar in colour scheme.

I guess it makes sense that Gar's red now thanks to the new Animal Man mythos with Red being related to animal life.

Speaking of Animal Man, something's been bothering me for a while now. The Green keeps referring to the Rot as the antithesis of life and what not, but aren't decay and pestilence simply another form of life -- the oldest one in fact? Decay can't even happen in places truly devoid of life, since the bacteria are dead too.

actually that very thing was brought up in Swampthin 9 (i think... or animal man 9....) also i think Abigail might be the embodiment of that idea now. Decay as a part of life...

I swear I cannot make sense of this excuse no matter how many times it is repeated.

Not all animals are red, and neither are the agents of the Red(Buddy, Maxime) red. So why do we admit as an excuse this change to Gar?

The Red is a concept, a mythology, a power force. It's name is deeply related to the usual colour of blood flow and muscle tissue. But that does not imply its name should be an all encompassing colour for all characters.

In Animal Man, it was already stated that death and decay were natural, but the Rot is basically old avatars of the Red - like Buddy's daughter - who refused to go peacefully and as such, perverted death into the Rot, which is why they use old corpses and the like. At least, that's what I remember.
