Oh okay, I missed that. Still weird to see so far ahead though, I always think that. Not quite as out of seasonal whack as fashion, but jarring to me.

That was my first assumption, but the tags say Frost. Which is a marginal mercy, as at least Emma is a grown woman.

I really hope we don't get a Hope for Jean exchange. I like Hope and I don't think they would bring Jean back without going through the same rigamarole as last time.

I hope they get rid of Cyclops. He's just.. They've basically pushed him into a quasi-Magneto role that even Magneto himself recognises, and I don't see where there is for him to go from here. We know that Marvel - because it's Marvel - won't let him succeed as a leader for the X-Men forever.

I still like the character (he's definitely flawed and kinda on a grey line, but that's part of what makes him interesting to me), but I do think it's possible he might die at the end of this.

I mean, this really draws out the parallel--this is the Dark Cyclops Saga, and at the end, the redhead is trying to save Cyclops from having untapped amounts of power. I wouldn't be surprised if at the end he has a moment of clarity, realizes that something is amiss, and destroys himself with the power.

Well, I just noticed Cyclops is the one wearing red, which is so not a good sign when it comes to the Phoenix. So methinks he's fucked.

Really, red-Phoenix is only bad with Jean. Both Rachel and Charles wore red when they had Phoenix powers.

I've seen clothing like that in movies. Movies that end well. But they tend to be black and shiny.

I get that Emma does the "sexy" thing. But come on.

I got a feeling it is going to be an X-Men that dies and most likely one of the five that currently host the Phoenix. So it is not going to surprise me if Cyclops is one that dies, and I won't complain cause hopefully when he comes back he will be a bit more rational.

Still if does live through this I would like to see him leave the X-Men for the bit and come back refreshed and refocused on leading the team.

And it will be entirely self-contained, allowing other stories to carry on without disruption.

Wow, watching two of my most disliked Marvel characters fight each other? That actually would be a match-up that I'd actually like to see, and chances are it won't make me want to scream in frustration like every other fight in this event.

Though I am surprised to see two of the Phoenix, uh, people fighting each other, since it looked like everyone would be fighting THEM.

And I really, REALLY hope that the person they kill isn't Emma. I might not like her, but that'd be horrible fridging and really not worth the 'omg Scott lost two ladies to the Phoenix it's so ironic' shock value. Personally I think it'd be Scott - he, more than anyone, has been pushing the whole 'the Phoenix will save us' belief through this entire event, so it'd be pretty poignant that the same belief would bite him in the ass. This is why you don't play dice with amoral cosmic beings, buddy.
