In AVENGERS #27, the Protector (Noh-Varr) takes a piece of the Phoenix Force to Hala. Which he got by betraying the group of Avengers that went to "confront" the Phoenix Force.

Keep in mind, when Noh-Varr left the Dark Avengers, he was able to contact the Supreme Intelligence on Hala. He was told "You have to protect Earth," which is why he calls himself "The Protector."

The Protector has enough of the Supreme Intelligence and blasts it. Then the other Avengers show up on Hala, irate at the betrayal. Even though Noh-Varr is begging for their forgiveness and that he realizes he was 100% totally wrong, the other Avengers take the Phoenix fragment and say he's not welcome on Earth anymore.

Maybe I've watched "Batman Begins" too many times, but I think Carol should have said "Mar-Vell would be ashamed of you." But would that hurt Noh-Varr (being from an alternate universe and all)? Probably not as much as if someone said the same thing to Carol.
