I've just decided that he occasionally makes it talk in a squeaky puppet voice when he wants to be particularly snarky.

I'm all for taking characters down new routes, and it makes sense not to make your enemies too impressive but Marvel dropped that ball when Magneto could 'iron blood mind control' and create wormholes so again, What? Why?

I am browsing as we speak (so to speak) but still I'm one confused bunny. Xavier as Bald Phoenix made more sense than this being a traditional telepath host and all that (even if it did make me laugh myself sick). I could even see Magneto as a host he's not telepathic per se but has been described as incredibly mentally tough.

But this? I'm just 'Whuh?'

Basically they happened to be here when Iron Man's weapon struck the phoenix force and divided it as a result, that's why they were picked as host. It was very much last minute trade off.

Cyttorak: Heroes are awesome. They destroy things ALL THE TIME whereas villains spend time hidden and not destroying anything. Your my favourite avatarthingywhatnot, babe. I don't care about the Pheonix thing. We could have a threesome and destroy even more things.
Colossus: OH REALLY WELL PHOENIX IN YOUR FACE.
Cyttorak: dude, i'm a demon lord in my own dimension and you're only one fifth of a phoenix. DISMISSED.

Then Big C got upset when Cain was acting in the interests of The Serpent rather than destruction for its own sake.

Well he said it more in terms of expecting there will be destruction with the phoenix at some point than judging what's been done so far.

But it's not all the bad signs about the future are any surprising, at this point, no? It's been raining a anvils.

I liked the Colossus/Magik moment at the beginning. Those two haven't really gotten any good character moments in the main AvX series.

Normally I like this artist, but that one little design detail was irking me. I've always hated Pietro's hair, but at least it worked for a speedster. On Mags it just looks silly (like Wolverine's hair being shaped like his mask wings).

That was actually Magneto's hair during his first time as an X-Men (around the time his judgment on World Court, when he wore that uniform with a big M from should to feet and later as a Headmaster of Xavier's).

Oh FINALLY. I was starting to get really annoyed that it looked like the Xmen were following the P5 like good little sheep, but it finally seems that even they're getting annoyed with their own gods.
