A humbled Darkseid?

I don't buy it.

Eh, I can sorta buy it. He's weakened enough to step aside, but that doesn't stop him from scheming. I like when Darkseid plays mind games more than cowing people with his fists (or laser beams).

I'm all for mind games but I'm thinking something more along the mind games of Zeus and Odin. Playing his physical power aggressively to force people into making mistakes.

Darksied is not subtle. Subtle is beneath him.

Ah, but Darkseid has had an Experience similar to Odin sacrificing one of his eyes and hanging himself from Yggsdrasil in exchange for mystic knowledge.

Darkseid has Gazed into the Source, and sacrificed his Sight and Power to do so. That's gotta be a life-changing experience.

The original writers said that they were both trapped in the Source Wall for tampering with things People Weren't Meant to Know... Seems to have changed now though.

Well, characters have been trapped in the Source Wall before, only to escape. Besides, I don't think any of the JLU writers had any idea that someone would be picking up plot threads they considered done, and years after they were done, at that.

I'm still mad that right after Clark's big badass "let me show you my TRUE POWER" moment, he was immediately taken down by Darkseid with little effort.

How many years later? 6? Maybe more?

Yea but he beat down on Darkseid more than anyone else ever had.

I sincerely doubt Darkseid has "given up" power. This will probably turn out to merely be a way to keep his power without having to deal with the trivial logistics of ruling Apokolips

So Darkseid lost his sight when he gazed into the Source. Makes sense -- blindness is a consequence of staring into any bright light for too long.
