I have to say, the name "Bambi Bonanza" is worthy of Ian Fleming!

I'm hoping the story ends up with Lois realising Bambi is actually faking the whole "ditzy blonde" thing and actually IS as hardnosed a journalist as she is.

It looks like Lois already suspects as much. She calls it Bambi's "dumb blond routine."

"Routine" as in performance or act, is how I took it.

Or that she didn't write the article at all. Because I don't think acting like an idiot around your colleagues would be very helpful professionally.

I think it depends on time and place.

If you work in a very sexist place where the men in charge actively oppose female workers, acting like a ditz could convince them that you aren't a "threat", and they might leave you alone to do your job in peace.

It's disgusting as hell, but sadly not unheard-of.
