The Walking Dead #100
Jul. 11th, 2012 06:28 pmSo... are we going to talk about it?
As the story arc comes to a conclusion, as Rick Grimes and crew come face-to-face with a very real and nasty threat.
Oh boy, was THIS painful to go through.
But for thoseof us who follow the book, we all know that it does NOT pull punches, there are no easy outs, and when bad things happen to good people, it's not in a cartoon way, but very very painful.
Fair warning, I've explicitly left out the gore and the blood, but if you DO pick up the book, you've been warned. It's is agony to read and you may need a few minutes not to jump into the book itself and seek berserker justice.
I SO want this Big Bad character to die a painful death. Not just any death, but a well justified and agonizing death.
Honestly, I want justice.
The set up...
after coming back from the Hilltop peaceful community and conferring with the leaders there, Rick and his rag tag band rush to get back home, unaware that the opponent Saviors of the Hilltop have laid a trap and want blood for their fallen footsoldiers.
Unwilling to drive at night and get caught, the small band takes settles in. Rick is exhausted, and is caught unawares during his turn at guard duty.
Then Hell begins....

Meet Negan.
In my mind I can hear him with th voice of the great Clancy Brown, especially when he was younger.
Negan needs to teach Rick a lesson as to who is top dog now, and he knows that he can't kill Rick. He needs Rick to be broken in front of the others, so that Rick's people know who to fear.
Eenie, meanie, miney, moe....
... and a beloved fan favorite meets a TRULY BRUTAL and heartwrenching end.
And Negan rubs it in.

Ta, ta.
yeah, can't wait to see Rick and Negan, one-on-one.
