Deadpool, Gutters and Liefeld...
Jul. 18th, 2012 11:24 pmI know that the Gutters is very touch and go on whether or not it's funny. But reading today's I actually got a chuckle out of it.
Also, seriously? A Deadpool video game? This could go either way.

Date: 2012-07-19 08:06 am (UTC)When will they loose the silly double narration thingie?
It was only used by Way to begin with, because his series is just a bunch of silly tie-in crossovers to whatever event is going on, with lots of poop jokes and virtually 0 background character to either develop Deadpool or have him interact with...
I remember only one issue (a DP Team Up?) where they were able to make sense and use well these double narration, where one voice (yellow box) was DP's inner thoughts and the other (typewriter font) was the writer.

Date: 2012-07-19 01:50 pm (UTC)What was not funny to me, was the trailer. To be terribly honest, it scared me a little bit because it reminds me a lot of Duke Nukem Forever. That game didn't bomb because the gameplay was bad, it bombed because that kind of humor just isn't funny anymore. Deadpool, and it almost kills me to say this, is a little classier than that. Yeah, he's crude a lot, and some of the scenes (like the exploding bathroom) are well within his character, it seems like they're focusing on those bits and not the random ones. There was only a single reference to chimichangas in the whole trailer, and at least three to boobs.
That doesn't seem very Deadpool to me.
