Batman: Made of Wood Part 3

In the final part of the Alan Scott/Batman crossover, Jim Gordon has been kidnapped by the modern day Made of Wood Killer, who is the grandson of the original one that killed some of Alan Scott's friends back in the 1940s. Now the race if on to find the former Commissioner before he's added to the list of victims.

The interaction between Alan and Bruce is actually really good, though for the purposes of these scans I'll just recap and skip to the end.

Bruce decides that solving the orignal MoW Murders will indicate who might have kidnapped Jim here in the present. They first disguise themselves as journalists and find one of the people who worked in that sweing factory back when it was open in the Thirties, who tells them that it hired a lot of immigrant families, who'd often let their kids run around the place while they worked (specifically in the basement, where Bruce had discovered the lair of the original murderer).

After being given a list of names belonging to some of the kids who played in the basement, they take it to the last surviving member of the Irish American Mob that the new murderer had been targetting. Batman roughs the guy up and makes him point out if any of the names look familiar, and the guy says that the surname of one of the kids (Sullivan) is also the name of a guy who had a series falling out with the gang recently.

As the heroes speed off to Francis Sullivan's house, where Jim has convinced Francis to start monologuing to find out his motives as an attempt to stall for time...

After a brief aside where Bruce and Jim reconcile after their falling out over Officer Down (Bruce blamed himself for Jim retiring after he was shot, even though Jim said it was more him deciding he was getting too old, the injuries and his still grieving for his wife who the Joker had killed recently). Anyways, they part on good terms, even with Bruce giving Jim a BatCellphone with a tracker in case he happens to get kidnapped again.

The story finishes here, on a surprisingly light note,

Up next, the Deadshot mini that is kind of a prequel to Secret Six in a lot of ways...

Wow, while I do think it was kinda weak to see the motives of the Made of Wood killer, the ending was pretty good and it does bring back some feelings of nostalgia.
