She's being written much better now, but I can't get past that stupid lecture she gave to Prof X and the fact that she was mindcontrolling her teammates. And her costume. You're not in a post-apocalyptic future anymore, you don't need to wear a poncho and handwraps.
Anyway, she's getting better, so I'm assuming that here she's.... embracing the Phoenix or something, thus taking it away from Cyclops, momentarily it appears, and then punching him in the throat. Cool, I feel like her powers are kind of loosely defined.
Also, yay, only two issues (followed by the by now obligatory "aftermath" miniseries) and then we're done! Still wondering how Prof X is going to become involved in this though, if he is indeed the one Marvel is going to kill.

I feel she simply doesn't deserve to have any friends in the x-men, their supposed saviour villianised all of them with the help of Humans and the one mutant who caused this mess in the first place (the Scarlet Witch).
I just want her to be likeable and smart. :(

Date: 2012-08-15 07:41 pm (UTC)It's a shame whats happened here, to these characters, but, I look at this the same way I look at the Ultimate Universe's 'Ultimatum Wave' -- terrible in execution, BUT, created consequences that made for a very interesting world after.

Cyke didn't want the Phoenix but once he got it every single action he could have done after that point, including doing nothing would have intimidated others into attacking him
Overall it seems that whoever has the most power is the villain these days

Date: 2012-08-16 04:48 am (UTC)And in Watchmen, Doctor Manhattan was the most powerful character in the series but he wasn't the villain either.
The whole "power corrupts" idea is pretty silly anyway, since there are plenty of people in real life who have power and wealth but are still decent. Meanwhile, some of the worst jerks the world has to offer are jerks because they have so little real power and take out their frustration on the few people with even less power.
