Greetings to all! I have returned once again to scans_daily. The night is dark and full of terrors... (I apologize for my absence. Life is hectic)

I have some X-Men solicits, a color poster of Marvel NOW's AvX, and some bonus fanservice (I tagged it NSFW just to be safe). Enjoy!

First up, a solicit for November's 'X-Men #38'

X-Men #38

Writer: Brian Wood
Art and Cover by: David Lopez
• It’s Domino vs the X-Men!
• Domino has always been lucky...or maybe the people around her are just unlucky.

I miss her long hair...

Next is the A vs X NOW Poster

Spinning out the AVX universe, your favorite Marvel characters go head to head in this brand new series from Marvel NOW! Popular creators have joined forces to create a showdown like no other. Have you ever wondered it Spider-Man could take on Cylops? Or if Iron Man could defeat Gambit? Your favorite characters will face off once again in A Plus X NOW #1.

Finally, some fanservice courtesy of everybody's favorite raging cajun, Gambit! From Gambit # 1. Art is by Clay Mann.

Also I have a few questions. I'm looking to purchase some new X-Men TPB's by Christmas, but I just have no clue what to get. I know I'm definitely getting the A vs X hardcover (don't judge me) even though I know it got negative reception. I can't help it...it's just......
Anyway, my two favorite X-Men characters are Storm and Psylocke. Are there any TPB's from this year that anyone could recommend? I haven't been in the loop with how the comics are going, literally the last TPB I purchased was Second Coming. Help!

I have to disagree. I think Domino looks far, far better with the shorter 'do. It just looks more stylish that way.

As for TPB's - Maybe consider Gillen's new Uncanny X-Men stuff, the first and second volumes of which are out now? Or perhaps Aaron's Wolverine and the X-Men stuff?

Both series seem to get really high marks, moreso than say, Matt Fraction's long, dull run on Uncanny.

For Psylocke.. Hm. It's not a series that started this year specifically, but have you tried out Uncanny X-Force? It's probably been one of the better X-titles since before they revamped things a short while ago, and I think it's one of Betsy's better showings in a while. If you haven't tried it, start with 'The Apocalypse Solution', and go from there.

As for Storm, I know that the recent writer who took over the regular 'X-Men' book, Brian Wood, has been doing some interesting work with Ororo, but Marvel haven't solicited a trade for his first story, yet.

I agree with you on the hair. It's odd though, because I always thought I preferred longer hair, but Widow's short hair killed me. But it works so much better on Domino than anything else she's had.

Wait so now instead of AVX VS fights taking place during the event, they're doing a book about these characters just fighting? I thought A+X was supposed to be a team-up book? Now I am confused.

AvX: Versus was the fighting book dedicated to.. Well, fighting. A+X is a new book debuting in October, I think, that shows how the two groups are crossing over and mixing in the wake of AvX.

Basically, it's a miniseries designed to explore the new status quo. Think the Age of Heroes mini they did for the Heroic Age.

Ahhh okay that makes more sense. I've seen like three different descriptions of the book so far and couldn't figure out which one was right :/

you posted the page with naked Gambit just before I did. (I must have been prepping the post when yours came up). Thus, like a ninja, you sneaked up and beat me to the punch :3

Uncanny X-Force has had an awesome Psylocke.

Storm has been great in Adjectiveless. I actually like what was before Wood on the title, (his story hasn't really been... i dunno, it doesn't impress me much, yet), it was solid storytelling with a lot of female characters kicking ass even if there was little focus on character interaction or development. But it was the only place where Storm was being awesome for a while.

I think you mean Warbird, a Shi'ar honor guardsman who is Kid Gladiator's babysitter in Wolverine and the X-Men. She's a pretty interesting new character.

Hi, new here. I would have to agree with the above posts, if you want strong, badass Psylocke Uncanny X-force is the way to go, and I'm not sure when Jason Aaron's first adjectiveless trade comes out, but that is the best Storm I've seen in a while. The first arc of Kieron Gillan's Uncanny is strong and has Storm in it, but she isn't very prominent in it. His second arc brings in Psylocke, but it has Land art so it isn't as good as the first.

"the AVX universe"????
Is that what they're trying to call it now or something?
I don't think I quite understand what they're pitching here.
And I hope they're not trying to call the Marvel U the AVX universe now, it just sounds tacky.

Might pick up whichever issue has the inevitable Quicksilver vs Northstar fight if neither one gets jobbed too badly, but mostly meh here.
