Look in what is going to be in comics when it started as a book... kinda of...
Sep. 5th, 2012 06:12 pmCBR had this. Had to share.

I read the Pet Force books back in grade school. the books were my Harry Potter before Harry Potter, I would spend all day reading them simply because it as awesome as it sounds. Garfield and his friends are warped to a parallel universe by a wizard clown to fill in for their universal counterparts, gaining super-powers, and fight the forces of an evil magically veterinarian. WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE? It was like the book version of Road Rovers, crazy, silly, but AWESOME all the way Though, in the cover of the variant...

They're going with the movie version... where there is no super smart Cyborg Teddy Bear, and instead of Ice Powers, Abnermal has super speed. Ironically, Jason Marsden who voiced for Normal in the new show and movies, also plays Bart in Young Justice... though I thought Bart in his Impulse days would be more of a "Aang" kind of voice actor... but then again, YJ had this "serious" route so Bart isn't.... "Impulse" Impulse.... which kinda bums me out for two things: 1 is that the Pet Force is going to be the back-up feature, meaning it will most like be 4 pages long. Half if we're REALLY luck.
2 is basically this... I don't this book is going to be covered in my local stores. So to those who DO have the book in stores... please share the AWESOME that is Pet Force.
And for what the first story is going to be about... here a little hint.

Date: 2012-09-05 10:40 pm (UTC)Pie Rat's Revenge, Menace of the Mutanator, the one where they fight that mutated doberman(?)...all treasured memories of my childhood.
I fucking loved all of their costumes too, especially Odious's costume.

Yep, The only people who I think can pull off a thigh belt are Superboy and Garzooka... Steph's ultitlty-thighbelt doesn't count as it DOES have a purpose...

Date: 2012-09-06 07:02 am (UTC)I mean, this isn't bad by any means, but the first two issues (I review them together here) were by the same guy who does the weekly strip, except he really got to stretch out, so to speak, and it looked terrific.
I look at the art above, and it's as though the artist knows the lines to draw to make Garfield, but doesn't quite know how they all work, or some of the nuances.
Anyway, I read the first Pet Force book, but wasn't able to keep up for some reason or another. Looking forward to this.
